Toshimaru Nakamura - no-input Mixing Board
Nicholas Bussmann - electronic devices
Toshimaru Nakamura and Nicholas Bussmann started working together in Spring 2004 after knowing each other for more than ten years, without ever considering to play together. The appraches to music seemed too different. It turned out that making music together created a sound they both didn‘t expect. They played a couple of concerts together and layed down the tracks for their first album in a three day session in the basement of the Kule in Berlin/Mitte. "I know how you frown" appears on Kwan Yin, a Beijing/China based label dedicated to ambient and experimental music.

Toshimaru Nakamura - Guitar and no-input mixing board player
Toshimaru Nakamura has been producing electronic music on self-named "no-input mixing board," after long unhappy years with the electric guitar. The name describes the method of his music. "No" external sound source is connected to "inputs" of the "mixing board." Mostly an improviser, occasionally a composer for dancers, an instrumentalist for compositions.
Nicholas Bussmann, Musician, Composer. Lives and works in Berlin. Began as a cello player. As many others he put his instrument aside and went for the new possibilities the computer and electronic devices offered. With Martin Brandlmayr he performs as Kapital Band 1. These days he is very much focusing on performing music rather then recording and is working on conceptual compositions and game structures. Nicholas Bussmann is curator of the love song competition happening every year in Berlin. He is the initiator of the Edition Edison, a project dedicated to physical sound-storage media, from the cylinder of the Edison phonograph to the CD.
