My uncle Boyd was and will always be my hero!
Today as I sit here and reflect on the past year I have to wonder when my time will come to make peace with God. It not a subject that is often spoken of or even thought for those who fear death. I wonder if my Uncle Boyd ever thought of this. I lost a hero last week and it saddens me very much. He was my secret hero. I wanted to him to know. My uncle was special in his own way. He designed cars and they were beautiful. He loved hot rods and he was determined to build the best. His creations won several awards and medals and honors. There was nothing like a hot rod built by Boyd. Before I had a chance to finally see my Uncle after 37 years I had secretly kept tabs on him via the internet. I stayed away because I thought that he was obsessed with his new found fame only to find out he wasn't. He was still Uncle Boyd. Anyway, my first time seeing him after all of those years, was kinda hectic because he had several cameras in his face and fans galore following his every move. After all of this we finally spoke and he apologized and said that he wanted to meet differently. I agreed, but over time we never got that chance. We spoke often and he told me how proud he was of me and my accomplishments, because he knew that I was once in a bad place and now everything was all better. He told me that he loved me and not allow myself to be a stranger. He always asked if I needed anything and I would always tell him that I had what I needed and thanks. He never took my "no" as an insult. I have to bring up a story that brings me back in his life. Back in 2004 I was working for a company that was hired to produce and serve subpoenas and when there was a problem in locating a certain person or company it would come to me for a skip trace. Anyway one day a request to obtain employment records came to my desk with only "Boyds Garage" somewhere in Orange County. The moment I saw it I knew without a doubt in my mind who and where I could find this location. I immediately called and got my Aunt Diane on the phone and learned that the business was no longer in effect and that there were no records on the individual who I was seeking records on. Of course I told Diane that it didn't matter that all she had to do was accept the subpoena and produce a affidavit saying that records were no longer available. I got the third degree and to make a long story short I had it served anyway, despite what I was told. Funny, huh? Well I never knew the outcome of that. Well anyway, to get back on my blog about my Uncle I told him of this and he laughed and said that I could have gone about it a different way and then he told me of some things that I was not aware of and asked for my forgiveness, and I did as he had with me. So anyway, learning of my Uncle's condition I wasted no time in getting to the hospital. I broke every speed law in California. When I got there his wife Jo greeted me and I was able to spend 5 hours there with him. He held on tightly to my hand and would not let go. I told him that this was not the way I intended our time be spent together. I giggled when I asked if he remembered me and he said in a stern voice "Of course I know who you are". Seeing him only made me think that life is too damn short and that I should pay more attention to my family. Sometimes life is gone before you know it. So to a hero who never knew that he was hero I wish to hear that "I love you" again and for you to know that you will always be in my heart. I need for you to know that I truly will miss you and that I was so proud of you. I tried to tell you so many times to your face but was only able to tell you over the phone. I wanted you to see the sincerity I had and that I would be there for you when you needed it. I miss you right now and it hurts to see your face and know that I did not get a chance to tell you that I loved you. I hope you know that I do and when you get to heaven please tell my daddy that I love him too and that I am so sorry for not being there. And please tell Grandma that I miss her cookies (the ones with the M&M's) and tell Grandpa that I sure could use a bug hug from him. I know that once you get to heaven that you and daddy will come up with some crazy way to build something spectacular. I love you now and always.
Glitter Graphics & Comments WHO IS THE ALLEYKATKITTEN????
Well you are looking at her. I am a very open minded, crazy, very blunt and true to myself. I am 40 years old. Born in Las Vegas, Nevada and raised in the city of Compton. I grew up in Park Village, which is near Alondra & Wilmington and went to Longfellow Elementary, Davis Jr. High and Compton High School. My childhood was not the best, but I did have some good memories. Today, I am a Legal Assistant for a Attorney in Century City. Since I am the only employee, I get to manage his life (that is a big job)as well as mine. We handle quite a few cases (mostly personal injury) and this has been very knowledgeable to me and my life. I enjoy working in this field because it allows me to interact with many situations and people.
Being a mother of 7 beautiful children (yes believe it) and 3 beautiful stepdaughters, I have learned a lot about life through them. I am and have had many changes in my life and my life has changed considerably. Having had experienced life in many ways I am able to reach out to others and assist in finding a better way of living. People who know me (past and present) know where I come from and where I am at in life.
Well I don’t want to give up too much information as I could write a book on my life and I really don’t want to be a bore, so if something catches your eye be sure to ask. Hope to chat soon! MyHotComments
