classic arcade games, DJing, DJing technologies, computers, making fractal art, looking at my fractals, high technology, my CD / MP3 player, PC games, people watching, printing, print technologies, psychology, reading, sci-fi conventions, science fiction, social sciences, some console games, thinking outside the box, writing, inventing, solving abstract problems, fantasy (genre), lots more..
I do like sci-fi conventions. In fact I have been volunteering for Dragon Con since 1988. That was after attending their first con the year before. The best way to experience any convention is to stay in the host / main hotel. Unless you're a party fiend. Then of course you want to stay in the party hotel or on the party floor(s). There was a time when convention goers would seek me out for their room parties. I used to carry my entire dance / electronica CD collection with me to places like Dragon Con. Where my music played room parties were won :)
Music
(What I don't like)
It is easier to say what I don't like versus all that I DO like. So nothing hateful, religious, racist, sexist, or otherwise lacking talent (aka most anything that is played on 99X, V-103, or most of the other FM Atlanta stations).
(What I do like)
I grew up listening to my mother's record collection. Then as a teen got a taste for college radio from my older brothers and sister. So I have somewhat of an eclectic musical taste. From classical, to big band & swing, to real alternative / Album 88.5, Jazz (both modern and traditional), classic rap, 1940s thru early 1990s popular music, some folk, blues, bluegrass, dixie, electronica (Kraftwerk really got me into this), comedies (Al Yankovic is my fave), new age, and the list goes on.
I also love strange music and comedies. Like right now I am sorting through some electronica .MODs when I re-discovered techno versions of Jeopardy theme, Jingle Bells, Ren & Stimpy, Halloween movie theme, Gods (the game) theme, Duck Hunt (the 8-bit Nintendo version), Lemmings (PC DOS version), The Banana Splits, a pissed off DJ who sounds like Casey Casem swearing his head off, and a slew of other neat little tunes set to a breakbeat.
Movies
Sci-fi, comedy, drama, anime / animated, goofy / silly, chick flicks (aka romance / mushy touchy feeliness), fantasy, and of course combinations of the above.
I don't like slasher / gore films. They are the modern excuse for horror films (which I don't like either.)
Television
Most of what is on TV isn't worth watching. When I was younger I was seriously into TV. Comedies, sci-fi, and animated shows are my life long loves. I took a keen liking to the technology shows on PBS. Then when we got cable I latched onto shows like Beyond 2000. I grew up with the original MTV before it tanked and sank to all new lows. As I grew older I found I loved shows like Monster House, Monster Garage, and so forth. I'm no gear head by a long shot. Still these programs are fascinating to me.
Nowadays I watch free TV. Why? I'm on a budget. So I tune into shows like Law & Order, the three CSIs, NCIS, Criminal Minds (or is that Intent?), some Nova, some FrontLine, Heroes, or whatever else may catch my fancy.
I'm not so much into the trendy stuff which is why I got hooked onto the Heroes show rather late. Shows like Lost never caught on for me. Too hokey in my opinion. Talent shows bore me. Rigged "reality" shows are lame. Game shows are more like gambling shows. Imagine a game show where the producers pay the taxes on monies awarded to contestants. That way winners get to keep everything they won. Wanna bet a show like that will catch on quickly?
Books
I've been an avid fan of Isaac Asimov since I first read his robot trilogy. That of course later became a six-part trilogy. I enjoy most forms of sci-fi, some forms of fantasy. I can't stand horror/gore/slasher themes. There's too much brutality in the real world. Why would I waste my time reading about fictional cruelty?
Does reading computer magazines count for sci-fi? Eh perhaps not. I like to read old publications. I like to read up on different technologies or lifestyles & interests. I wouldn't exactly call myself a well read person. I have no real desire to read "the classics".

Electronica and fractals almost belong to each other. If you're looking for that next killer or trippy experience for your dancers or if you're putting on a show that needs some far out back drops, then my fractals are the way to go.
Fashion is the key to creating a personal look. One that stands out from the rest. One that sets the trend rather than merely following it. With my fractals you can blaze a trail of unique, personable fashion & accessories.
What do you get from showing fractals in your club, bar, or lounge? More foot traffic, word of mouth advertising, a fantastic light show unlike any other in town, a truly unique experience for each person.
I've achieved my goal of showing the majority of my 80,000 fractal. Lots of people have told me there isn't that many fractals. Creating my own web site allows me to prove them wrong :)
You can browse 73,553 fractals on my web site. From that total I have 30,000 fractals for counted cross stitch. I have 853 fractals up for Limited Edition Prints. I've added thousands of new fractals to the posters section. If that weren't enough I've added more cool downloads to Jigsaw Puzzles, Screen Savers, and Video Art categories. With a new downloads page to link everything on one easy to find page. So please visit or re-visit my site. Let me know what you think.
Many of the poster series fractals may look black & white or greyscale. Look closer to see their colors. Loads of way cool fractals are on the way.
In addition to Special Edition cross stitch patterns I also sell my fractals as
- Fractal Art Books (online)
- Fractal Art Calendars (online)
- HD / PC Video Art (Windows)
- VHS, S-VHS, and Trippy DVDs
- HD / PC screen savers
- Limited Edition Prints
- PC Jigsaw Puzzles (physical Jigsaw Puzzles w/matching wall art are being considered)
- PocketPC backgrounds & themes (great for other pocket computers or PDA / phone combos)
PC Jigsaw Puzzles, PocketPC backgrounds & themes, Video Art, and Screen Savers are all sold on PC CD-ROM. The software can be enjoyed on IBM-class PCs running Windows 95 - Vista. My slowest test machine is an Intel 586 (Pentium) 200 MHz, 128 MBs RAM, 24-bit XGA video card (standard 1024 by 768 video resolution) running Windows ME.
Limited Edition prints can be generated up to 20,480 by 15,360 DPI. That translates to a printed size of 204.80 inches wide by 153.60 inches high. Creating these billboard-sized works is usually handled by tiling the output across multiple panels. Then the customer can arrange those "pieces of the puzzle" any way they like. The cost of their production is dictated by the type of printing used, how many panels are used, any special requirements the customer may have, and where the finished project is being shipped to.
I've been assembling many new animated deep zooms of my fractals. So far I have compiled twelve segments that run 20 minutes when combined. By the time Dragon Con 2008 rolls around I may have enough to run for one or more hours (before looping begins.)
Hey Bob Laquer, thank you for the support. No, I'm afraid we don't have any fractal themed masks. We might be able to work out some custom goggles though. Check back with us.
