New York City Beat Poet SamHaiNe has been performing Poetry/Spoken Word since the mid 90's starting in the alternative Anti-Slam scene of the L.E.S. then moving on to the Underground Hip Hop Open Mics of the Mindspray Crew and Brooklyn, NY.
With a decades worth of spoken word in his resume. SamHaiNe has performed at such venues as Joe's Pub, ABC NO RIO, SUNY Purchase, Urban Juke Joint, Teabag @The Five Points, Gathering of the Tribes, Stinger Club,
Alligator Lounge, Galapagos, Supreme Trading, One Mic @ 40c, Beauty Bar, Martini Red, Jus Words(Philly), and Zion Train(Philly).
Then there was O-Ren Ishi. Originally conceived in 2001, it wasn't until 2005 that the first official O-Ren Ishi single saw light.
With Zone 7 Entertainment the 2006 seminal Electro-House single was released "Fashion of the Flesh" prod. by Elegba's Child.
Then in 2008 the follow up "A Different Way of Thinking" was released with the first official cast of O-Ren Ishi in place.

O-Ren Ishi is an experience of living in days of spooky languages and working class riots during a time of Splatterpunk & Film Noir.

Mixing Trip-Hop, Jungle/Drum&Bass, Jazz, Beat Poetry and Doom. Look under your beds. Say your prayers. Beware the man in the dirty black suit with a dark gift, a midnight kiss, a sleeping blade, memories into dust and lovers among violence. Forget that the bridge was on fire and just remember the danger of that first plunge into darkness.
