In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, blogging, going to the movies, watching movies and television, writing, recording and editing, dancing (Jazz, Ballet, and Hip Hop - my current attempt), playing my Nintendo Wii, and going on the computer.
Music
I'm always on a retro fix--I like music from the 80's, but I also like some 90's music. I also like fun songs from the 60's and 70's. Anything that puts me in a good mood, I listen to. I don't really like current music because I like stuff that's a tried-and-true hit. I can always find something I like when it's retro.
Movies
Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The Goonies, Wayne's World, St. Elmo's Fire, Summer Catch, The Breakfast Club, Troop Beverly Hills, Pet Semetary, Flowers in the Attic, Seven Girlfriends, and Opportunity Knocks.
A little gem from 1988. We miss you George!
Television
Saturday Night Live--that's a given!! I am a HUGE "Saturday Night Live" fan!!! I also enjoy "Quantum Leap," "Private Practice," "Wings, "Newsradio," "Freaks and Geeks," "Family Guy," and "The Critic."
Books
Dennis Miller's "Rants" books, "Disclosure," by Michael Chrichton, "Jump the Shark," by Jon Hein, and "Live from New York--An Uncensored History of 'Saturday Night Live'," by Tom Shales and James Andrew Miller, and "Alex: The Life of a Child," by Frank Deford. Also, "Pet Semetary" by Stephen King, and V.C. Andrews' Dollanganger series, which includes "Flowers in the Attic."
I'm currently reading "Watership Down," by Richard Adams. It's a great novel about a group of rabbits who escape their endangered warren on the premonitions of one rabbit, and their adventures to Watership Down, a countryside in England. I highly recommend it.
Heroes
Tina Fey ("Saturday Night Live's" "Weekend Update)--I've been a huge fan of hers since she started anchoring "Update" in 2000. I also admire her b/c she was the 1st female head writer in the history of "SNL." I've always admired smart, funny women. As a smart (and sometimes funny) young woman, I tend to gravitate toward people that are like me. Of course, she's much funnier than I am (or ever will be, for that matter). Knowing that she was an awkward teen like I was brings me much comfort--and a realization that we all eventually grow out of it in a big way. She left Satruday Night Live in 2006, but not before tying the record for longest "Weekend Update" tenure (set by Dennis Miller in 1991). In an interview in mid-2002, Dennis Miller told her that he liked what she was doing with "Update." If you can earn the admiration of a veteran "Update" anchor, and certainly the one who did it the longest, you're doing something right.

Allison Not exactly good at updating my status! :-D view more
About me: My name is Allison, and I am twenty-six years old. I reside in Atlantic County, New Jersey, where I moved two years ago. I am a 2005 graduate of the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies.
I am currently employed by a South Jersey-area country club(owned by Harrahs Entertainment) as a Front Desk Associate. Not exactly using the degree, but it is good work, and it is something to do for work experience. Who knows?
As of May 6, I earned my Certification as an Electrocardiogram Technician. I am excited about the accomplishment, and will pursue EKG Technician as a career, but am also going to continue to go to school for a few more certifications to learn as many different areas as possible (except for Phlebotomy - I do not like blood!), all in an attempt to be a "professional student."
I've been dancing for 16 years (non-consecutively). I took Pre-School Ballet for one year, Combination Ballet/Tap for 2 years, Jazz for 11 years, and Ballet for 3 years. I am now taking Adult-level Hip Hop - quite frankly, I wasn't excited about not taking Jazz (but I was told I needed a Ballet class, which I didn't have time for), so I tried Hip Hop, and I love it! It's nice to say I'm trying something different, and the other adults I took Jazz with are in the class too, so it's a good thing!
Wow, a return to education AND a new dance discipline? Wish me luck!
I loved this commercial the first time I saw it, and it still cracks me up:
Who I'd like to meet: Famous--Tina Fey, Dana Carvey, Dennis Miller, Derek Jeter.
In November 2006, I met former "Saturday Night Live" star Kevin Nealon when I saw him in person at the Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ. I volunteered for the boardwalk artwork portion of his act, and I shook his hand twice. He was very nice too!!! Take a look at what he drew for me:
I've already met one "Saturday Night Live" star, but I'd like to meet this guy next!
And for those of you who love Christopher Walken, here's a gem I found on an old episode of "Saturday Night Live" - it's from January 1990!
Thanks, although I kinda borrowed it from someone. XD
You mean from my message thingy on here? You should send me one so I can hear yours. Its pretty much how I sound like but of course your voice is never totally accurate over the phone.
Me too, I should have penciled him in. Jack Dalton could be the VP. lol
Hey Al, long time no talk, actually this could even be the first. Just wanna know something, how far from NY is 6 Flags? Also whats the weather in NJ like around may? eep says it starts to get good around that time. Im wantin to go backpackin but im not gonna say im def on that at the moment so im not gonna make post a stupid countdown clock on my page like last time. Anyway, hit me back with the dits. How you been anyway (i should have opened with that as now i seem like im only interested in gettin answers to my Q's) still dancin? Take it easy, Peace. Micky G.
Hi, Allison. I just want to say that I love your new profile picture. You look a little like Kim Basinger in "L.A Confidential" in that photo. Well-done.
lol, I actually posted a few threads about the election on TB so feel free to check those out since no one has has, haha. Nah, this state has always been blue with the rare exception of Ronald Reagan but McCain was no Reagan in the sense that Kerry was no Clinton. Only reason Arnold crossed party lines was because he was the most moderate Republican running and his tough competition was Mary Carey the porn star, Gary Coleman the midget, and Gallagher the comedian. LOL!
I voted no on it but like you said it passed anyway, friend of mine wanted to marry her girlfriend but I guess she'll have to wait until it comes up again in the election cycle. LMAO! They should have done an SNL sketch on him.
Wow! Good thing they enacted that cell phone law then, even though NO ONE follows it. XD
Excellent, and if your on facebook I found a way around the terrible new layout. I created a group on there on how to fix it and I got 2000 members in a 48 hour period. lol
Doesn't surprise me, that's reaaaaallllyyyy common among drivers here. XD
Awwwwww, thanks yours do too!
Oh, I forgot I got a new one at rprsouls3 since my other two accounts kept shortciruiting so feel free to add me. I'm on at various times of the day so feel free to hit me up if you see me on there. the tmz differences kina suck though. : (
