Ok, ok so Alllies has evolved. What started as the writing project of Mark Aston with contributions coming from KT Tunstall, Luke Bullen, Jack savoretti and others has now officially become a full blown rock band. And we have to say we are quite liking it so far. As the new tracks demonstrate we are now out to provide a good old punch up the rock brackett. So what the f**k happened?? Well in April 2007 and under some duress Mark went into a rehearsal room with long time friend Adam King on drums and then complete stranger Alex Searle on bass. As a consequence of this musical knock about they immediately booked a day in the studio with legendary record producer and all round good egg Cameron Craig. A day or so before the recording session Mark was given the number of this "blinding" guitar player Simon Johnson who after a little gentle persuasion agreed to pop along and ave a little play. And play they did. A little over 3 hours later and the basic tracks for Belly Up, No Angel and The Rest Will Come were completed. With a tiny bit of extra tinkering and some sterling keyboard parts from Tom Bailey.....voila! Alllies the rock band.......get in. With a grand total of 2 rehearsals and five songs under their collective belts they played their first gig in London Village to a full and contented house in May. With a few more rehearsals another four tracks were recorded with even better results. After a break for various summer commitments the boys are back to work in the rehearsal room ready for a string of London dates in November.....watch this space.

Great work, Mark! Thanks for adding BELLY UP and NO ANGEL for download... they are both excellent. We'll keep asking til we find out... WHEN'S THE TOUR?!!!!! :o) All the best, Si.
Great new songs, Mark, especially "Belly Up". When are we going to see you playing outside the big smoke with a new album to promote? Nearly two years since we saw you live... and that was at our wedding! Si.
Hi alllies, KingBathmat have a new song "Nobody Steals My Girl" up on myspace and it's free to download for the month of May, and there will be a new song every month afterwards until the album is released near the end of the year.
You can also download "Nobody Steals My Girl" Mp3 at our website at http://www.kingbathmat.com
Alright, Mark? I just tried to listen to some of your acoustic-indie-folk-rock music, but got a "connection failed" message. I'm imagining what it would be like, and it sounds great.
Maybe see you on Friday at Paddy's do in Shoreditch.
Thanks for adding us . Great tunes.
Keep checking our space and website for new material.
Going into studio to record some new tracks on the 23rd.
Let us know what you think.
Mark, I can't stop playing never enough! It's a song that just keeps getting better, love it, keep up the great work. PS. Underglow is right about the names - Ralph in particular is a great fit :)
