MySpace a place for friends

With a passion for music that has been with him since the beginning, RyZe is living his dream. In 2004 Ryze formed the hip-hop group Clean Addiction with members Blaine Mountain, Jenna Paige, and Coleman Maxwell, they began doing local shows around the Lubbock Tx. area which eventually lead to their first big break when they entered and won a battle of the bands at Wayland Baptist University judged by national recording artists Seventh Day Slumber. That victory turned Clean Addiction from a local group into a state wide touring act. The group went on to open up for such bands as Grammy nominated Grits, Third Day, The Afters, Fireflight, Robby Seay Band, Ten Sheckle Shirt, Jonah33, Hawk Nelson, Lecrae, Flame, Tadashii, Trip Lee and NuWine. In 2007 the group decided they were heading in different directions and decided it was time for the group to bow out. RyZe decided to pursue a solo career and began his new journey. His first solo performance was a battle of the bands at Jakes Backroom which he won and was given the opening slot in front of hip-hop artist Too Short. A few months later RyZe decided to make a tribute song for Michael Crabtree, the all-american freshman wide-reciever that plays for Texas Tech University. He decided to spoof the song Crank That by Soulja Boy and created the song Crank That Crabtree. The song took Lubbock and Texas Tech fans all over the country by storm. The song was put into rotation on most Lubbock radio stations and RyZe began doing numerous interviews with news channels, radio, and the news press. RyZe and his song also recieved national attention from The Dallas Morning News, ESPN, and MTVu. RyZe recieved 35,000 hits on his myspace the first week of putting the song up and over 70,000 during the first month. At the beginning of 2008, RyZe released his solo E.P. titled Sky High. As RyZe continues to break barriers between The Church and the mainstream world with his inspirational messages, eyes are on him to see what is next.
