THE ALMIGHTY DANGLERS -- formed in October 2007 where Santa Cruz California, Geneva Switzerland, and Istanbul Turkey meet. With each of the three members having a long history of bands in Geneva, California, and elsewhere, their eclectic sound has been compared with Aerosmith, AC/DC, Jack Johnson and Gordon Lightfoot.
Their first bar-type show in Spring 2008 was a resounding success at The Scene in Geneva. Together with Kiet Nguyen, they ripped up the stage for nearly two hours without a break. Since then, the Danglers have played bars, jams and a number of open-air festivals on increasingly larger stages (Undertown, Hardronic Festival, Arare Outdoor Rock Festival, Parc des Bastions). In fall 2008, the Danglers shared the stage for three nights with internationally renowned artists Emmanuel Jal, UNT1, Theresa Rhodes, and 4Refugees for The International Day of Peace Festival. The Danglers have even played three hours of non-stop rain n roll at Fete de Tournesols, where they narrowly escaped being turned into an electrocuted BBQ trio on the flooded stage.
In the few short months since their creation, The Danglers have created not only a growing fan base, but also have written enough songs for a double CD. Drawing on a influences both East and West, their first album, "The Angle of..." is planned to be released on April 15, 2009. The details of the launch party will be announced in the web page soon.
Most of all, the Danglers honest love for straightforward, high-energy good time rock 'N roll and good music is clear when they take the stage. Unafraid to rock it hard like its supposed to be, or slide it up smooth like you want it to be, get ready for a hyped up, plugged in good time! THE ALMIGHTY DANGLERS -- créé en octobre 2007 au carrefour entre Santa Cruz (Californie), Genève (Suisse), Istanbul (Turquie). Avec chacun des trois membres ayant une histoire musicale à Genève, en Californie, et ailleurs, les sons sont éclectiques à comparer à Aerosmith, AC/DC, Jack Johnson et Gordon Lightfoot.
La préférence des Danglers est simple, d’une énergie de bon rock n’roll, quand ils prennent la scène. Depuis leur première apparition dans un cadre de bar type spectacle au printemps 2008, ils ont connu un succès retentissant à La Scène (Genève). Avec Kiet Nguyen, ils ont arraché les planchés pendant près de deux heures sans pause. Depuis, les Danglers ont joué dans des bars et un certains nombre de festivals en plein air (Undertown, Hardronic Festival, Arare Rock Festival, Festival de la Paix Parc des Bastions). En automne 2008, les Danglers ont partagé la scène pendant trois nuits avec des artistes de renommée internationale, dont Emmanuel Jal, UNT1, Theresa Rhodes, et les 4Refugees, à l’occasion du Festival International de la Paix. Les Danglers ont même joué trois heures sous la pluie à l’occasion de la Fête des Tournesols.
Depuis leur création, en l’espace de quelques mois, les Danglers recensent non seulement un nombre croissant de fans, mais ont également créé assez de morceaux pour un CD double. S'appuyant sur une influence à la fois de l'Est et de l'Ouest, leur premier album, "Angle of…" est prévu d'être publié le au printemps 2009.
