It is rarely that I let someone play my guitar, selfish, well I have been professional for most of my life and I have learned that it is best for everyone just to be polite and say no.
I have entertained Princesses, and Prisoners, and People who are Mentally ill. I have performed many thousands of shows for children, and worked Pubs, Clubs, Restaurants, Theatres, Radio and Televison from where you might be to Borneo.
Of all the wonderful places and faces I have been involved with the American Folk Singer Tom Paxton has always been a graviety in my career, I learned to play guitar so that I could sing his songs, in February 2005 he generously allowed me to perform a concert with him. At that time I was 'retired' from the entertainment business, I told him I was not interested in 'come back', at that time it was true, but I got to thinking, and I got to missing, and I got a norring pain inside, and a voice deep in me called out 'What do you think you are doing ?'.
Neil Diamond has a song which says that he is 'A man of God', I am not that, but in my child hood I remember a bible story of 'The Talents'. A father gave three sons some money and told than to use it wisely and he would check up on them a bit later, one son burried it in the ground, one son spent it all but the last invested it and made more than his father had given him.
So back stage Tom Paxton gave me his guitar to play and I wrote a song about that and so Tom not only started my professional career, around 1973, he re-started it in 2005 and I am so happy he did, because I realised that although many people have great musical and entertaining talents not everybody does. It might seem like a lot when you look through 'My Space' but in comparison to the number of people in the world it is not many, 'Don't hide your talent under a bushel' - use the talents which you have.
I cannot think that everyone will like what I do, but I do hope to pick up a few followers along the road, and I hope you will be one of them. Find out more at http://www.almondgreenway.com

Just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to perform with you in Switzerland and the UK. The BBC spot was great! You are a fine man and a great talent, my friend. I hope to see you in the spring, for more shows.
almond, that is the sweetest, kindest comment i have ever had. thank you so very, very much! i am working hard on building an audience in the hope that a major might give me the chance i've been hoping for for many years now. once again thank you.... it helps to hear encouraging words - i don't doubt that i'm in a wonderfully privileged position, pursuing what i love and i count my blessings everyday but it wouldn't matter without people like you! thanks andrea
