Almost A Trio are an acoustic Soul/Jazz/Pop duo from Sydney's Inner West that combine the rich,warm,soulful vocals of Giselle Le'Aupepe and the unique and expressive guitar stylings and backing vocals of Paul Roth.
Officially forming in early 2007,the duo has come to express and reflect an eclectic and interesting sound due to a vast array of influences.These range from Jill Scott and Billie Holiday to Joni Mitchell and from John Mayer and Ben Harper to Tuck and Patti.
Having played on the Sydney for a bit over a year now the duo's fantastic reception and gaining momentum has seen them playing at venues such as The Brass Monkey, The Hopetoun Hotel, The Sound Lounge and many others including Lizottes on the Central Coast as well as on line ups with several noted up and coming local artists.
Its early days for this duo but with the possibilities of creativity endless and audiences positively wowed it is with eager anticipation to see where the future takes Almost A Trio.
Almost A Trio has also just released their debut 6 track EP "Nothing To Do" which was recorded at Revolution Studios with Josh Schuberth and is available via this website and at our live shows-so stay tuned!

If there is one new act you should make an effort to see it's these guys because vocalist Giselle Le'Aupepe is one charismatic front-lady. Supported by a talented acoustic guitarist and back up vocalist, Le'Aupepe injected soul into the room, particularly with her rendition of 'Summertime' by George Gershwin. Performing Soul, blues and more uplifting numbers, this act stole the show and will hopefully be seen regularly on line-ups in the future.

I'm SO excited about the way the songs I recorded at Sugar Hill Studios in Houston for my upcoming EP turned out! The tracks are posted on my page, but the hard copy EP entitled "Light of the Moon" will be out soon with some very ethereal cover art.
