Influenze
Almost Green is an acoustic rock outfit that is currently under the influence of: Pearl Jam, Led Zepplin, Alice In Chains, Dave Matthews Band, Gavin DeGraw, The Beatles, O.A.R., good Irish whiskey, non-prescription cold & flu medication, and the current state of affairs in this crazy place we call 'the world'.
"Keep your eyes on Almost Green, they are going places" - Mike Vagnoni, Out on the Town's radio show ' The Pipeline.'
It has been over 5 years since the band, formerly known as Pumastrut, began their musical journey. Since this time the band has played countless venues, recorded song after song, and continued to grow into the well oiled machine that they are today.
The band is best described by fans as "urban folk" - a genre that the band members themselves find to be the best way to represent their style of music.
These 5 musicians continue to push the boundaries with every show that they play. Whether it be through Jay Liberatore's soulful vibrato Shaun Ruymen's never-ending energy, the two frontmen of AG compliment each other and bring a laid back, friendly, and approachable vibe to every show.
Add to that mix the soloing of lead guitarist Paul Schober and you add musical ideas that some never thought possible. Paul never stops trying to learn new ideas, which convey in his playing. He is a student that will not stop until he has learned as much as he can about his craft.
Every band needs a rhythm section, but few bands have a group that not only holds things down, but also adds their own flare to every musical situation. Dano Miller and Kevin Hill are both very educated in the musical field, and it shows every time they take the stage together. Their rhythmic ideas compliment each other's style in way that leaves fans of AG totally awe-struck.
Almost Green will be releasing their highly anticipated sophomore release mid summer, as well as securing dates with regional and national acts. Keep checking back as this is a very exciting time for the guys! "Look alive, Look alive"
