Almost There Records is a small label in Austin Texas that focuses mainly on the local scene. After the success of a Who tribute record put out in December of 2004, we decided to take things a step further. August of 2005 will mark the 1st annual local compilation, titled Turn 1. Every year in August we will release a compilation of original music from Austin’s finest, with a release party coinciding consisting of 10-12 bands. ATR just wants to help as much as possible in getting these great bands the attention they deserve. Plus, it’s an excuse to put together shows we wanna see, and records we wanna hear. RAWK!
Tasty Topics include Office Space 2 confirmed, Jobs wants DRM killed, Church defies NFL, the Marijuana depositor, NPR vs the Zombies, Leaving the City by G. Love, Broken Bottles by The Divide, 25/Moonscrapper Medley by Oland, Thank God for the Superbowl by The Mydols, Tom Cruise Scares Me by David Ippolito and a review of Smokin’ Aces.
Holy Sheeeeet!!!!!
Amazing Show, everyband giving everything they had.....then One Mississippi, Mandible and Grand Champeen blew the club off its foundations!
These are some of the best shows in Austin, ever.
Witness: the birth of a legend.
I wrote a song called "Every other band on this compilation sucks" but unfortunately, I cannot give it to you because yours will be chock full of da jamz.
