We like to take our influences from here there and everywhere. From the usual suspects like Bob Dylan, Cat Steven, Show of Hands and Hank Williams etc... to the more eclectic stylings of the Cardiacs, Kyuss, Melvins, Don Caballero and the Dresden Dolls and so forth.
Alocacoce is Jude on guitar, James on guitar and Huxley on Bass. We have been playing together as Kiajaroovah for about 5 years and have been playing live acoustically as Alocacoce since the end of May. And before that as a guitar duo on and off for a couple of years. Kiajaroovah is our main band and is a full on loud electric affair. ...see http://kiajaroovah.net ...
Alocacoce is just a made up word that doesn't mean anything really. The name came first and it was a shame to waste it so we named ourselves and stepped outside to play.
The acoustic stuff started life as a way to play stuff that wouldn't really fit in Kiajaroovah, and then developed into a way of writing tunes for Kiajaroovah so they are both really the same type of thing just interperated differently.
Our influences are pretty varied, from Heavy Metal to Jazz via pop really. Umm...Bitches Brew era Miles Davis, The Melvins, Fantomas, Kyuss, The Dresden Dolls, The Cardiacs. Anything that sounds good to us. If pushed we would probably describe ourselves as "acoustic pronk" where pronk is "progressive punk."
