Hello! I'm Clank and I have been producing Electronic music for well over twenty years progressing through all kinds of styles and equipment (and name changes!). My first musical memory was some kind of drum machine that sat on top of an old organ that my mum had!

Since then all kinds of things have influenced me including artists such as 'Kraftwerk' and 'Jean Michel Jarre' and all kinds of music from Hip Hop to Dance to Classical; and in particular, film & TV theme tunes, my love of science fiction (especially robots!) and also the industrial area in Kent in which I was brought up.

The name 'Clank' was originally given to a robot character I had designed but eventually I chose this as my own alias. It reflects the mechanical, industrial robotic nature of some of my music and also the fact that I sample noises from all kinds of everyday objects around me which are often metallic clanks.

Over the years I have gone through various types of equipment but now mainly use a powerful PC with 'FL Studio 6' and 'Renoise' as my sequencers of choice. I have a host of soft synths but still particularly like to use a lot of hardware to process my sounds through endless variations of mixers, guitar pedals and analogue synths to create an original sound. I have a vast ever growing collection of samples but rarely re-use them, preferring to create sounds specifically for each new piece of music.
