Start the New Year off with EOTO, featuring Michael Travis & Jason Hann of String Cheese Incident.
Now based out of Southern California and the mountains of Boulder, Colorado, Jason Hann and Michael Travis (percussionist and drummer from the band The String Cheese Incident) compose this brand new 100% improvised live breakbeat, trip-hop, house, and drum n' bass project. Drawing from the ethos of some of the great DJ's and computer artists of the world, they use cutting edge technology to create truly original and melodic dance music in the moment, with the undeniable power of live drums. The music is all created on the spot, recorded, then mixed and remixed live to create an ever evolving musical experience. Since the project is 100% improvised, every night promises to be a unique dance experience. Hann and Travis play different roles in this band than in SCI. Jason plays the drum kit, percussion and sampler, while Michael is in charge of the tonal elements, playing bass, guitar, and keyboards, and hand percussion and live mixing.
J. WAIL:HAWAII & BEYOND TOUR
International touring 'live' electronic artist J.Wail will be coming to the Hawaiian Islands in January for his Hawaii & Beyond Tour. In the realm of touring bands and performance schedules, solo artist J.Wail takes touring to the extreme. It was over 10 months ago when J. Wail began his tour around N. America. It's been a whopping 100+ shows and 40,000+ road miles and after visiting the Islands, will have visited all 50 states in the Nation. The musical conquest of J.Wail has been turning heads as his tours are to the extreme. That is exactly what J.Wail wants. He has something a little different to share with the world and a passion to make people dance.
J.Wail is an artist stretching into the DJ-based dance sound with the approach of a live band. He creates his "experimental club-funk-rock" through innovative techniques using guitar, bass, synthesizers, and live electronics. Playing approximately 300 shows in the past 2 years, J.Wail's current tour (10 months and counting) has reached out to audiences on all corners of N. America. Highlights of his upcoming Hawaii run include, the Hawaii Electronic Music Festival, shows with members of String Cheese Incident in their project, EOTO, and more
Willie K returns to his old stomping grounds of Pahoa to rock the roof off the historic Akebono Theater in Pahoa. And you get not one, but two, that's right I said TWO nights of the hottest, most bad ass rock and blues on the planet! No one does it like Uncle Willie! Of course, if you've seen Willie in action before, you don't need me to tell you. And if you've never seen Willie put on a rock and blues show, get ready to have your mind blown from here to Pluto and back!
And it's all for two great causes. Part of the proceeds will benefit Neighborhood Place of Puna, support services for families in distress in the Puna community and Make My Day Hawaii, helping to save music and arts in Hawaii's public schools.
