ALONZO PENNINGTON on Guitar and Vocals
ANGELA MOSELY on Piano
DEAN HUGHES on Drums
BOBBY HARPER on Bass
Influences
Alonzo's influences include many different styles and guitarists, the largest being HIS FATHER, internationally known and respected thumbpicker, EDDIE PENNINGTON (www.eddiepennington.com). He has admired, practiced and reverently emulated the talents and styles of other legends, such as STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN, MERLE TRAVIS, CHET ATKINS, JERRY REED, MUDDY WATERS, BB KING, TOMMY EMMANUEL, BUDDY GUY, ERIC CLAPTON, DJANGO REINHARDT, AND MANY MANY MORE....
Sounds Like
In my opinion, and I'm proud to say, that APB sounds like no one else! Upon hearing and seeing us LIVE, you'll easily recognize a WIDE variety of mine, Angela, Dean and Bobby's collective influences. During our show, you'll be "visited" by STEVIE RAY VAUGHN or JIMI HENDRIX, turn around and we'll throw some JERRY REED or CHET ATKINS at ya! Later on in the night when it is time to really get down, we love doing some of the classic great dance tunes like Supersition and Standing on Shaky Ground. We LOVE to please the crowd and love to take requests from our friends in the audience! We rarely use a "set list" because we play the evening by ear, riding the ebb and flow of the energy created between us and the crowd. By enjoying a close musical relationship based on friendship and professionalism, Bobby, Angela, Dean and I move effortlessly and seamlessly from one song to the other, never missing a beat and always looking to take the show to the next level! Thanks for taking the time to read this. I sincerely hope you'll take the opportunity to attend one of our shows. We love to meet new friends and share our unique brand of music. Rock On, Alonzo Pennington
Based in Western Kentucky, The ALONZO PENNINGTON BAND (A.P.B.) has been aggressively playing in the region for most of the last decade. A.P.B. is one of the TOUGHEST, FUNKIEST, AND MOST ENERGETIC BANDS AROUND !! Alonzo plays a POWERFUL guitar BASTED in SWEET VINTAGE TONES and a rhythm section that can, as BUDDY GUY says, "MAKE IT SO FUNKY YOU CAN SMELL IT". A night out with APB is known to induce DANCING AND PARTYING to the delicious mix of ORIGIONAL SONGS, Blues, Crazy Country, Classic Rock, Funk AND Jazz......... ALL IN APB's OWN STYLE!!! .....................................................................
Stand Up and Be a Man and What Would it Take are songs from the session we did in Joelton Tn. back in nov. 08 at Java Jive studio. Thanks to Chester Thompson for the incredible work on the drums. I can't say what an honor it is to have someone with the background such as Chester on these takes. www.ChesterThompson.com Just go look and see who all he's worked with and who he works with. Again, like I said to Dean in the studio, "Chester Thompson is playing on my songs!, WOW".Thanks to Angie for getting that one set up. Also, thanks to Dave Martin at Java Jive, man he knows what he's doing, and such a big help putting theses couple of songs together.
some of the songs you hear here are from our album All My Friends. Released in Aug. 2007. We are glad to have the likes of Reece "git um" Chism on the drums for a few songs, and my little sister Rosebud with Cheyene Mize on backup vocals. We also have Mike Millls on the harp with Russ Calhoun on the piano for Route 66. You can purchase this and other APB/Alonzo Pennington albums at www.cdbaby.com/apennington ...........................................................................................................We would like to thank all the people that help us, keep us working, and generally make life better for us. Especially our wives and families. Thanks to Vicki and David for bringing Angela to our gigs and setting up and tearing down gear at the end of those long nights. Well, if you have made it this far down the page, you were either looking for your name or you are a true fan. Thanks to all those who come out and dance listen and enjoy what we love so much to do. We'll see ya down the road somewhere.
Rock On, Zo

I’ve been a music journalist for more than 10 years. Over the years, many artists and managers have asked me what the best way to break into the European music market is.
Here are some things you can do:
Publish artist press releases, news, and tour dates to the CountryHome Forum on MySpace, http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazine , CountryHome Forum is part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine. Everything you publish to the CountryHome Forum will be published in my weekly Newsletter which has over 80,000 readers.
Publish artist interviews in English to http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazineInterviewsEnglish , interviews in French to http://groups.myspace.com/InterviewsAvecCountryMusicStars and interviews in German to http://groups.myspace.com/CountryMusikInterviews . All these groups on MySpace are part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine.
Send me CDs and DVDs for review and set up an artist interview with me. All reviews and interviews will be submitted to the magazines I'm writing for. More information for which magazines I'm writing can be found at http://www.MySpace.com/ChristianLamitschka
Upload artist videos to http://www.MyVideo.de and http://www.ClipFish.de . Both websites are like http://www.YouTube.com and uploading videos is free. The websites are completely in German. If you don’t speak German and need assistance, I will help you open an account and upload a video for 25 Euro. Each additional video upload for the same artist name and at the same video website is 10 Euro.
If you have more questions about the European music market or about any of the information I send to you today, please contact me at Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de too.
