Please welcome ALORI JOH (AHLORI JOE), a rising R&B/Hip-Hop artist from Carson, CA to the world of music. At 22, she’s gained professional experience recording songs, writing original lyrics and performing at venues such as Universal Studios’ B.B. Kings and the Home Depot Center. In 2003, she auditioned for American Idol where she passed through the first level of judging. A year later, she signed an artist development deal with a former indie label- where she was fortunate to meet JaVonte, her current writing partner of two years. Together they form the PenHedz, a versatile song writing team with a catalog of over 150 songs open for placement. Prior to these achievements, her passion for music derived from her mother, Tia Johnson who would blast all genres of music in their Carson-based apartment. In her youth, Alori Joh took a strong liking to the expertise of Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. From there, she studied the unique style of Lauryn Hill and the diva approach of Beyonce Knowles, whose music helped her find her unique sound. Alori Joh’s songs blend classic rap with soulful rifts that create an international sound of music. She plans on incorporating her west-coast appeal into her music while being greatly accepted worldwide.
