CD TRIBUTO A LOS GATOS:
You have in your hands the first disc that pays tribute to these men who gave great moments to several generations with their music.
This disc is a well deserved homage to LOS GATOS, the first important argentinian group who sang in spanish in the depths of
1967, when most of the groups in those years sang in english (Los Shakers, Los Walkers, Los Mockers, etc.)
They left a six-disc-testimony, some singles and a great prestige in all South america.
This new Argentinian and Uruguayan generation pay tribute through their varied styles and performances making obvious the
appreciate and fervor to the songs that LOS GATOS have handed down to our nation.
The first assignment of this tribute is to revalue the importance that LOS GATOS had in the national music and to appreciate LITTO NEBBIA composer work.
The second assignment is this litter of musicians to be recognized by more people so in the future they can bring out interesting pieces of work for the posterity and artistic heritage of national music.
There are groups that pay homage to LOS GATOS that join to the celebration of the 40th aniversary of the first single of LOS GATOS SALVAJES (brought out in 1965 by Music Hall Records).
History:
From Rosario, Santa Fe, 1963... the germ of the all thing was a combo called THE WILD CATS. It was a habit to use english names (The Seasons, The Vip's, Los In, etc.)
In 1964, adolescent Felix "Litto" Nebbia, joins this group as a singer and they change the name for LOS GATOS SALVAJES. A key name to understand the beat, rhythm and blues and the rock that starts in our country.
Their unique disc brought out in 1966 is up to now a great document with freshness that marvels besides the level of the previous compositions of Litto Nebbia. It was the first group singing in spanish.
The group worked for 3 years and they separated in January, 1967. That same year Litto and the organ player, Ciro Fogliatta, decided to stay in Buenos Aires and found LOS GATOS with the guitarist Kay Galiffi, the drummer, Oscar Moro, and the bass player Alfredo Toth (who joint to LOS GATOS SALVAJES in the last months). During the year they became regular visitors of a bar called "La
Cueva", where attended several characters that would be very important in the future of the argentine music movement. It was there where took place their first single "La Balsa" which catapulted them to the fame the 19th of June in 1967.
"Los Gatos", "Volumen 2" and the magnificent "Seremos Amigos", the last two in 1968, are discs that came before the success of "La Balsa".
At the beginings of 1968 after the participation in a festival in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Kay Galiffi decides to live in that country. The other members go to USA and Litto stays in Buenos Aires composing his first solo album and stars a movie called "El extraño de pelo largo".
In the last months of that same year, Los Gatos returned with new equipment and new guitar player, the mythical Pappo!!.
With him, Los Gatos recorded the last records, "Beat Nº1" and "Rock de la Mujer Perdida". The last one in 1970.
After 9 months Pappo leaves the band and Nebbia passes to Bass player. Toth takes care of the guitar.
They recorded some songs that would be brought out later in the Album "Inedito" (live and studio) of 1987.
In 1971, the band separates, staying like History for our music.

Aca tienes en tus manos el primer disco tributo que se les rinde a estos hombres que dieron grandes momentos con su musica a varias generaciones.
Este cd es un merecido homenaje a LOS GATOS el primer importante grupo argentino en cantar en idioma castellano en pleno 1967 cuando la mayoria de conjuntos en aquellos años lo hacian en ingles (Los Shakers, Los Walkers, Los Mockers, etc.)
Han dejado un testimonio de 6 discos, varios simples y un gran prestigio en toda Sudamerica.
Esta nueva generacion de musicos argentinos (y uruguayos-peruanos y filandeses)) le rinden tributo a traves de sus variados estilos e interpretaciones dejando claras y sobradas muestras del aprecio y fervor de las canciones que LOS GATOS han legado a nuestra nacion con el paso del tiempo.
El cometido de este tributo es primero, que se vuelva a revalorizar la fundamental importancia que tuvieron LOS GATOS en la musica nacional y mas precisamente apreciar el trabajo del prolifico compositor LITTO NEBBIA.
Y segundo que esta nueva camada de musicos sean conocidos por mas gente y que en el futuro puedan editar obras interesantes para la posteridad y patrimonio artistico de la musica nacional.
Para sumarnos al festejo del 40 aniversario del primer disco simple de LOS GATOS SALVAJES (editado en 1965 por el sello Music Hall) hay grupos que en esta presente edicion los homenajean.
Un poco de historia
Desde Rosario,Santa Fe, 1963...el embrion de toda la cosa fue un combo llamado THE WILD CATS que en aquellos dias era costumbre ponerse los nombres en ingles (The Seasons, The Vip`s; Los In, etc.)
En 1964 un adolescente llamado Felix "Litto" Nebbia se integra a este conjunto como cantante y cambian su nombre por LOS GATOS SALVAJES. Nombre clave para entender el beat, el rhythm & blues y el rock que se hacia en nuestro pais.
Su unico disco editado en 1966 es aun hoy un gran documento con una frescura que sorprende y ademas del gran nivel en las primeras composiciones de Litto Nebbia. Fueron los pioneros en cantar en castellano.
El grupo funciono durante 3 años y se separaron en enero de 1967. en ese mismo año Litto y el organista Ciro Fogliatta deciden quedarse en Buenos Aires y forman LOS GATOS junto al guitarrista Kay Galiffi, el baterista Oscar Moro y el bajista Alfredo Toth (que integro los ultimos meses Los Gatos Salvajes). Durante ese año son asiduos vistantes del boliche "La Cueva" donde varios personajes seran decisivos en el futuro de movimiento musical argentino. Y fue alli que se gesto su primer simple "La Balsa" que los catapulto a la fama aquel 19 de junio de 1967.
Al exito de esta grabacion les siguieron los discos "Los Gatos", "Volumen 2" y el magnifico "Seremos Amigos" estos dos ultimos en aquel magico año de 1968.
A comienzos de 1969 despues de la participacion en un festival en Rio De Janeiro en Brasil, Kay Galiffi decide vivir en ese pais. Los demas integrantes parten hacia USA y Litto se queda en Buenos Aires componiendo su primer disco solista y protagoniza una pelicula "El Extraño de Pelo Largo".
En los ultimos meses de ese año Los Gatos vuelven con nuevo equipamento y un nuevo violero...el ya mitico Pappo!!. Y con El registran los utimos discos "Beat Nº 1" y "Rock de La Mujer Perdida" este ultimo en 1970.
Luego de 9 meses Pappo deja el grupo y Nebbia pasa al bajo y Toth se encarga de la guitarra. Graban algunos temas que seran editados posteriomente en el disco "Inedito (en vivo y en estudio)" de 1987.
para 1971 Los Gatos se separan y seran historia para nuestra musica.

"Once & for all" es el título del primer LP de Still Nasty. Registrado y mezclado en los estudios Crab de Madrid, cuenta con la producción de José López y Still Nasty, siendo masterizado por Ron Boustead, en los hollywoodienses Precision Mastering Studios, de Los Angeles (USA). Mucho hard rock y atmósferas, con ataques del denominado stoner rock, configuran el debut de los madrileños, que cuenta además con interesantes colaboraciones (Marta Ruíz, de Sex Museum/Poliester, Robertez, de Motociclón, entre otros).
