"It is rare that a band so young can create such a dynamic record. Expansive soundscapes coupled with sharp lyrics make the listener believe that this is the band's fifth album, not first. Not only is A Love Like Pi a refreshing sound in this increasingly dull music industry, they are an example of how to do things right. Nothing is compromised; everything is polished and delivered beautifully. This band is without question one to keep an eye on, it's only a matter of time before they explode." -Punkdisasters.com
"Atlas and the Oyster is complex and mature for a debut, but more than anything it is a record that illustrates a bigger picture about desires, maturity, and change. A Love Like Pi has achieved this through their artful merging of imagery and allusions with inventive, edgy arrangements; the result is poignant yet technical electronic rock." -The Aquarian
"I have a weakness for concept albums. By pulling a theme from all of their sonic components, they unify a collection of songs musically and lyrically and provide a unique experience for the listener. From Sgt. Pepper's to Dark Side Of The Moon to more contemporary efforts like Mae's The Everglow and The Decemberists' The Crane Wife, many of them tend to excel. While some do indeed fall short, bands who create them tend to be experienced. A Love Like Pi, however, attempted one with their debut album - and succeeded magnificently." -The Tune
"I've been waiting for an album to rival the originality of Envy on the Coast’s Lucy Gray for almost two years now; thanks to A Love Like Pi’s debut album Atlas and the Oyster, I can finally rest easy."
"Rare in our scene is the band that can write creative, compelling, and sophisticated music, and even rarer is the one that can take that sonic vision and execute it with both precision and finesse. A Love Like Pi is one of these rare bands."

"Fronting a band with a name as indelible as its infectiously melodic electro-punk, A Love Like Pi frontman Lief Liebmann is a breathing testament to the fact that, sometimes, a little psychosis can go a long way...Initially, the album strikes some familiar chords, as Liebmann spends a good portion of "Atlas and the Oyster" in the throaty vocal register that fans of Get Up Kids and Promise Ring will remember well. Beyond that surface layer, however, there is elevated terrain through which he and the band choose to navigate, full of darker, more nebulous imagery reminiscent of New Order, Clint Mansell, even Franz Kafka." -Asbury Park Press
"A Love Like Pi’s ability to create such a well-written and cohesive debut is impressive considering many bands don’t put together one solid album in their entire career. Expect this band to explode this year, and hopefully they’ll continue to release albums of this caliber for years to come." -Decoymusic.com
"When you break everything down though that is when you see the intricacies that A Love Like Pi has left behind. Like a well written TV show, you have jokes that appeal to all as well as hidden inside jokes that make the smarter individuals chuckle and “Atlas And The Oyster” is a prime example of that. You can enjoy it for the plain and catchy electronic rock that jitters about, or you can dig deeper through to the layers of sophisticated lyrical density and the intriguing unique elements that is this record. Pi (theoretically) goes on forever, and despite only a few quirky things I can nitpick about, so does my praise of this record." -BringOnMixedReviews.com

A Love Like Pi, electronic-tinged rockers are scheduled to release their debut CD, Atlas and the Oyster (Thriving Records) on March 24. The Red Bank, New Jersey trio includes Lief Liebmann (vocals, synthesizers, violin), Collin Boyle (bass) and Christopher LoPorto (drums).
The Atlas and the Oyster seamlessly interweaves driving pop-punk, and danceable beats, even ethereal electronic—at times in the same song. Liebmann has the ability to inject each song with danceable hooks, catchy choruses and most-importantly its unique personality. It’s instantly found in the staccato beats of “Innocent Man,” swelling epic rock of “A Merry Cain,” and style shifts of “Keep My Lovers True.” “I love the dichotomy in our music. It has this element of technology and the power and soul of rock,” says Liebmann. The CD was recorded and produced by Kenny Gioia (Bayside, Head Automatica, Four Years Strong) at General Studios in Queens, New York.
Liebmann, who sums up A Love Like Pi’s shows as “an explosion of energy, craziness and unpredictability,” have extensively toured the East Coast and have appeared at the Bamboozle 2008 festival and the South by Southwest music conference. Touring is planned through the spring and summer.
