Alpendub is the mutant brainchild of Canadian producer The Man Cable - a resident of Berlin, Germany. On a dare, he started tossed samples from Yodel and Polka music CDs from Austria and Switzerland into his MPC sampler and made groovy dubby instrumentals. Things went surprisingly well!
After putting together a bunch of dubby instrumentals, he met some a genuine yodelling Fraeulein in Kutzkelina as well as a true blue Bavarian zither player in Moe Jaksch. Combined with contributions from Tirolian bassist Klaus Janek and English mouth-harpist Malcolm Arison, Alpendub worked as a band from 2003 to 2005. They produced one CD "Jo-Delay" and now have fans all over the world in some surprising locations (Venezuela, Brazil, Japan).
Work is currently underway on a follow-up with contributions from a range of vocalists and instrumentals - stay tuned for more!
