About Alphabetix

We're a northern crew based in the Leeds/York area. Consisting of 3 Mcs, 1 beatboxer and one DJ we form alphabetix. Currently at work with many new ventures such as 30 tonne PR/30 tonne records/118 Soundsystem records - so keep youre eyes and ears peeled! We have been promoting events in and around Leeds for a while now and we know that there is a multitude of talent in and around this great city. We wanted to do something that would make us stand out from everyone else, be a part of something new and exciting. There are dozens of open mic sessions all over the UK every week and we wanted to do something that put a new spin on it. We decided to name the event after the prize on offer, a gold plated Shure SM58! We wanted to do something that would test even the most prolific emcee, so we decided to have an artist compete in varying disciplines including - Freestyle, Pre-written, Battle and Cypher, with points awarded by the panel of judges and crowd. There are 3 heats with each heat winner going through to the final and the best scoring runner up over all the heats. The final will be judged by some of the finest UK hip hop legends. Big Phil	Dec 31 2007 1:05 PM Alrite guys, For those of u that can remember/ I have spoken to about it, I am putting a compilation cd together for when I go round Australia and New Zealand for the next 6 months. Over the past few months, I have been mythering people to kindly donate tracks to the project. Some of u have kindly agreed, others said they would think about it, and some of u are being contacted for the first time. I will be selling the cds at a minimal cost while i am travelling so that i can raise a bit of extra cash to get by. IN return, i will obviously be getting ur music heard in places that may otherwise seem unreachable. (Also, all tracks will be fully credited and any links u want putting on the sleeve can be included). The cd is being done in association with the site in write for; britishhiphop.co.uk and i will forwards any artists details on to the site if you want anything reviewing etc etc The project now has a name; “The Foreign Quantities Mixtape,” and I am looking to start compiling the tracks asap.
