Alpha Gamma Nu's Interests
|
| General | In addition to the fourteen points expressed as motives or purposes in the Creed of Alpha Gamma Nu, there is a required of each member of this fraternity a three-fold responsibility. First, each member offers to every other man who wears the Alpha Gamma Nu Crest friendship stemming from common purpose, respect of personal beliefs and ideals, guidance and aid in time of need, and loyalty based on understanding. Next, to the fraternity, itself, united in common purpose it is planned that every member must pledge himself to strengthen her by all his actions, to strengthen her unbroken bond of unity, and to strengthen her ideals and principles. Lastly, to the University each brother must give a first loyalty of personal pride, a free amount of time toward greater progress, and an understanding as well as respect for school traditions.
Since the fraternity's founding in 1923, Alpha Gamma Nu actives have continually made notable contributions in academics, student government, social activities, greek leadership, intercollegiate sports, and community programs.
Men join the fraternity for fellowship, the opportunity to exerpience personal growth and brotherhood. Alpha Gamma Nu recognizes that "wise is the person who fortifies his life with friendship." Indeed, the friendships made in Alpha Gamma Nu will last a lifetime.
Through the journey of Brotherhood -- pledging, you are never alone. Mentors and role models willing to share their own experiences will guide and support you. About me:
The fraternal order of Alpha Gamma Nu was founded on October 23, 1923, at the University of Redlands. At that time eight men of the associated students expressed a desire to organize themselves and their successors as a local fraternity of that institution. The factulty gave its permission for the formation of this organization on a wednesday in October of 1923. The found and first faculty patron was the late Rev. Edgar B. Van Osdel.

Who I'd like to meet:
We are searching for current members and Alumni from Alpha Gamma Nu. We also want to make this an area where friends of the House can get back into contact with old friends from the University.
