El comienzo del experimento

Alphard nació hace ya 8 años, cuando por fin se justificó la "razón" de formar una banda compuesta por varios músicos inexpertos, pero con muchas ganas de mostrar que en este país, por el año 1997, no todo estaba definido en materia musical y que aun había cabida para mucha experimentación. Luego, el principal "pero" era la línea que la banda iba a seguir: Después de innumerables "peleas" en ensayos y reuniones nos dimos cuenta que nunca íbamos a adoptar ni seguir una línea definida, y que mientras mas participación de todos los integrantes hubiera en las composiciones, mas nos iba a costar darle una tendencia a la banda. Al final, la "línea indefinida" que tanto buscábamos alinear termino por definirnos como banda...el experimento constante que busca homogeneizar tendencias de diferentes estilos (doom, death, folk, blues, rock progresivo) que nos ha traído mas de alguna dificultad aunque gran satisfacción cada vez que un tema se da por terminado.

Causa y efecto

La cronología de Alphard es una línea llena de accidentes, fisuras, parches, hoyos, subidas y bajadas que en cierto punto reflejan que no ha sido para nada fácil seguir adelante y que además definen el nivel de determinación que puede tener una banda con mas de 8 años en el circuito, con numerosos cambios de integrantes y con muchos cambios de estilos que no se ha dado por vencida y que se mantiene siempre en constante experimentación musical. Esperamos que pronto al fin, todo lo que hemos gastado en ensayos además de todas las discusiones que hemos tenido para mantener a Alphard siempre vigente, con algo fresco que mostrar, de resultado y que nuestra música pueda causar en las audiencias el efecto indescriptible que causa en nosotros mismos...

The Beggining

Alphard was born 8 years ago, when the crusade of forming a band finally could be justified. It was conformed by 5 amateur musicians yearning to show that in this country, back in 1997, as far as music was concerned not all was said and done and that there was still a lot of room for experimentation. Then, the main “but” was to define the direction to follow. Not only after arguing and fighting a lot in every rehearsal or reunion we had, we realised we were never going to follow a single line and also, the more participation in composing and arranging we had, the harder it was going to take to give our music a direction. Finally the “undefined line” that we were looking to align ended up defining ourselves as a band: the endless experiment that tries to homogenize diferent genre tendencies (such as doom, death, folk, blues and progressive rock) that has brought us more than a single difficulty, but major satisfactions every time we finish a song.

Cause and effect

Alphard’s chronology is a timeline full of accidents, cracks, patches and ups and downs which certainly define the level of determination that an 8-year-in-the-scene band that refuses giving up -after several changes in its line-up and many, many changes of style- can have, which still moves towards experimentation.

We hope that soon, at last, all the time, sweat and money we have spent on rehearsing and all the arguing we have had to keep Alphard always up-to-date with something fresh and new to show, give us favorable results so our music can cause on the listener the same undescriptible effect that it causes upon us.
