People who play guitar, drums and bass. Usually between 5 and 7 feet in height. Sometimes drunk. Often white and male, but not required. Angst optional.
Sometime in October 2006 we played our first show as “The Lowlights”. Then we discovered some weird dude with a sitar in New Mexico already had that name, so we went back to a name that was, ironically, the second choice of an old Denver band. It was at that moment that the Also Rans were born.
The Also Rans are: Adam “Chachi” Seitz—Drums, useless cymbal washes, unnecessary copy editing and general “Chach-like” behavior. Christopher “The OC” O’Connor—Bass, vocals, being “the glue” and listening to things that should be read. Dan “The Loud One” Gedman—Guitar, vocals, A.D.H.D. and being “that guy”. Frank “The Little Parm” Oviedo—Guitar, occasional yelling, cool kid cred and remembering shit.

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
