You are now listening to the Debut Album of Altar of Oblivion entitled “Sinews of Anguish – Opus 1 in D-Minor”; a conceptual Album about World War II telling a haunting and moving Story seen through the Eyes of a young German Soldier who in the Autumn of 1942 is sent to the German Eastern Front in Order to take Part in the harsh and ruthless Fighting against the Russian Red Army.
At first, indoctrinated by the captivating Eloquence of the Nazi Propagandists and blinded by the hitherto Superiority of Hitler’s War Machine, the German Soldier is confident of a quick German Victory. However, as Time passes by and with the Casualties constantly rising, he is beginning to lose Faith in the numerous Promises given by the Leaders of The Third Reich and slowly realizes that a German Victory is merely a Figment of a fanatic Madman’s Imagination.
At this Point and in Spite of having seen (through) the true Colours and Intensions of the Nazi Regime, his hands are irrevocable tied, left with no Option but to fight until the bitter End.
With the above-mentioned Introduction in Mind, let us invite you into the Theatre of Tribulation to experience from the Front Row the various epic and melancholic Layers of Doom, Sorrow and Horrors of War.
