.. ..Click Here for Free MySpace Layouts.. ---------- -------------------------------------------- ALTERNITY RECORDS was founded by Chris Hoard and Derek Wilson in 2001, who currently reside in OC California... home of some of the nation's most beautiful beaches and staunchest conservatives. Our label signed guitar legend Allan Holdsworth in 2001, and released two records -- his acclaimed live masterpiece, Then! (recorded live in Tokyo, 1990) in 2003, featuring Gary Husband, Jimmy Johnson, and Steve Hunt, and the double CD compilation "Against The Clock," in 2005 including Holdsworth's favorite studio works remastered and selected from seven of original studio albums, plus two previously unreleased tracks, among them a unique Sythaxe/Guitar solo interpretation of the timeless folk classic, "Shenandoah." In 2006 the label signed drummer/keyboardist Gary Husband to release a solo piano album interpreting the original works of John McLaughlin, including some of our Mahavishnu Orchestra favorites. In 2007 Alternity Records announces the spectacular debut recording of sub-bassist Yves Carbonne, which introduces singer Guillaume Eyango, and features guest performances by Michael Manring. Alternity has invested in an international cast of seven artists, including virtuoso pianist/drummer Gary Husband (a current member of John McLaughlin's touring ensemble, and guest on his recent release, long-time Allan Holdsworth band mate, the drummer in the British pop band, Level 42, and having toured with greats such as Billy Cobham as a keyboardist). Husband is featured on drummer/composer Jason Smith's debut recording on Alternity as well. London-based "textural guitarist" and master of Future Groove, Simeon Harris, and NYC based femme guitarist extroardinaire, Jane Getter, who's band includes Adam Holzman (Miles Davis), and Keith Carlock (Steely Dan), Label founder Chris Hoard produced and composed the experimental, sometimes hip-hop groove based, progressive fusion of Riptyde, which features a wealth of guitar work by guest Allan Holdsworth.
