When wildfires struck San Diego in October 2007, we immediately began working with Pacific College of Oriental Medicine to coordinate over 50 massage and acupuncture volunteers at Qualcomm Stadium, Gillespie Field Staging Area, and the Ramona Evacuation Center. In total, we facilitated over 1,300 free treatments for evacuees, firefighters, and other emergency personnel.

Who I'd like to meet:
We're looking for licensed and insured health professionals, (MT, HHP, L.Ac., ND, MD, RN, etc.) and instructors of Yoga, Qi Gong, Meditation, Tai Chi, and other mind-body-spirit connection building arts to volunteer at our Family Health Nights in the under-served communities of San Diego. We have applied for grants and are also seeking corporate sponsors so even though you might start off volunteering, we hope to eventually pay you at least a stipend for your help.
