Being an independent film actor, musician, songwriter, vocalist, music festival promoter, and the subject of a literary work on Texas river people doesn’t leave much time to spare. However, visit White Wolf Trading Post adjacent to the historic Regency wooden suspension bridge and Alton Watson along with his wife Sue will be happy to sing a song for you and visit awhile. Fourteen miles north west of San Saba Texas, right off FM500 is a special place simply known as, “Regency.” It is the place where the multi-talented Alton can be found every day of the year tending his wolves and writing fantastic original music. Having performed with Stephen Bruton, Arlo Guthrie, Michael Fracasso, Suzie Nelson, Asleep at the Wheel, Billy Joe Shaver, and Hank Williams Jr. a person would think Alton would lack interest in the simple joy that an original song can bring to the average visitor at his trading post…that notion couldn’t be further from the truth. Channeling an age old spiritual ‘Bigger Wheel,’ Alton and Sue Watson welcome all persons interested in discovering powerful simple life truths. As his original musical composition, “Swinging Bridge”, that was featured prominently in the 2000 independent major motion picture, “World Without Waves”, intones…“Hidden in the heart of Texas there’s a swinging bridge waiting on you.”

Alton and Sue, Thank you so very much for opening up that magical little paradise of yours, you all never fail to make me feel completely at home and welcome. It's becoming increasingly hard to say goodbye each time, I know I wasn't alone with the sadness as Regency was filling my rear-view mirror. Thank you for all the wonderful and magical memories of this years fest! Thank you for welcoming me into the family of songwriters lucky enough to play with you. Everyone there was so very nice, it really was a very special time for me. Please thank Jim for making me the cd's of the music on the porch, that was very kind of him. :) I love you guys.
