Al Torchia's talent is undeniable, in both his songwriting and his performing. Whenever he plays his guitar, pure American rock-n-roll comes flowing out of it. His songs skillfully capture the sunny essence of Florida, which should come as no surprise since Al's very proud of his hometown of Tampa Bay. Despite his talent, Al knew he needed to put together a band to achieve the big sound that he heard with his songs. The Tattered Saints: Drummer Mike Bandur, (“Hooligan”) was the first to join the band. He is the strong, enthusiastic backbone of this band. When he sits behind the kit, the steady and powerful hits of the skins sets the driving force of the songs. Tyler Medley joined the band as our stronghold at lead guitar. After spending time playing in Gainesville, he relocated to Tampa. His style of playing pulls influences from Kieth Richards, Chuck Berry to Little Stevie himself. Al and the band are currently finishing up 8 new songs at Black Toe Studio with engineer and producer Steve Rosiky, which are sounding stellar! The tunes are some of the most mature Al has written yet. The plan is that when these songs are finished, they will be released as Al Torchia and The Tattered Saints' first album. The boys have just begun to really work on booking a full calendar of shows, in order to promote the upcoming album. Keep an eye out.
