Al's (Alec Storey) musical awakening began at the age of 15 when, a spare of the moment decision to get a lift to a "party", turned out to be a full blown rave in heart of the Norfolk countryside. The music was Techno. A place he'd previously found dull and uninspiring would turn out to become the perfect playground for experimentation, without the constraints of club promotion. Prior to this he'd been a drummer in a number of bands, something that remains a major part of both his music and live sets today. He started Dj'ing and bought a basic midi set up and and has been hooked on electronics ever since.
Through involvement with the Molotov sound system, made up of J Molotov, Luke's Anger, The Lick, Trailer Traxx and Dzaxy he returned to his true love, Electro, something originally accredited to his late brother Daniel. Since then he's studied music technology at university in Bath and now lives in Bristol, where he's become well known for his ferocious DJ sets and live performances. With a love of sub bass, tight syncopated rhythms and extreme DSP effects, al's sound encompasses elements of Electro Bass, Techno and Electronica all bound together by a heavy dose of funk. And thats that!

Rubadub Review:
"Politically charged electro from Miami producer Alpha 606, this is pretty wicked shit. The man is fusing the percussive Latin influence from 80's Miami Bass (Conga's etc) with the futuristic glitch-werk of say, early Schematic records. Proper Miami shit that manages to be booty shaking and chin stroking at the same time. Tip!"
Ah I'm jealous...I need to learn to drive, badly. One day, one day... Haven't got any festival plans. I live pretty much on the beach here, so if it's sunny, I'd prefer to be here than anywhere else really! Give us a shout if you're down this way mate. Mirror, signal, manouevre...

01. Mad-Tek remix 02. Nymate Association's Death Star remix 03. Sol_Dat remix 04. the wee djs remix
Well, here we have a new issue, even if not the best fit for a 5 o’clock tea, but for a five o’clock nuclear blast… Csillag from the “Datastormer” DST was showed up originally on Lifeforms EP, it has been presented in four reinterpretations now. The Mad-Tek carved a pleasant breakbeat cover of it with sounds scrambling into your head, tense rhytm and gentle burring bass. Perfect set-starter track for kids and matured men. Nymate Association has made a new masterpiece. Ethereal melody follows a slowed-down intro, and this kind of idyllic tone - going occasionally crazy - is being smashed by the jungle loop breaking in with elementary power. As if Darth Vader played the Nintendo. Sol_Dat composed an old-school remix full of little foolish sounds and transfers you to an astral projection by its acid-screws. If you feel everything is trembling around, be sure you are listening to the wee djs remix. The basic export commodity of Edinburgh is fucking serious, it kicks your ass firmly. Mind- and soul-screwing tunes, ultrabrutal lows. A frantic electromonster.
Bonusround 002 is pressed and ready to roll, get it from Juno, rubabdub etc.
Shops can get it from Veto dist.
here's the blurb: -----
After smashing hell out of the club with its first release, Bonus Round maintains the high standard with yet another killer EP.
"Get a Little Stupid" sounds like Luke's Anger spilling the contents of his sampler across the warehouse floor, as he delivers a 4/4 party mover thats truly for the people. A shifting narcotic b-line drives this one forward, with ultra-sleazy synth tweaks and tricky edits that, on closer inspection, arent that stupid after all.
"Indigo Carmine" is a deep and dark Miami mutation: classy and confident, yet wonky and ripe for dancefloor abuse.
Al Tourettes delivers a great rolling electro refix of the title track, turning it into more complex, sinister and metallic beast, but keeping the party at boiling point.
Finally Anger teams up with bass operator Uberdog for a massive breakstep workout called "Show Us Yer Growler". Those trademark low end wobbles never sounded more at home on a track thats moody, catchy and straight up fat!
