ALTRES are a band from Dundee, Scotland who originally formed in 1983, playing mostly instrumental, improvised electronic music at a time when very few bands, if any, were making this type of music in the UK.
This original ALTRES line-up split in 1985, but in that brief period of time released a number of cassettes and performed at several live events.
After a short break lasting 17 years, ALTRES reformed in 2003. Since then we have played a few gigs, and are working on new material for a CD.
We are very keen to play live. Contact us if you'd like us to perform at an event. Anything interesting considered.
We use synths and guitars but we are not computer driven. We play live. We're not Rock 'n' Roll or Heavy Metal. We don't play dance music, but that doesn't mean you can't dance. We play what we feel like playing. You don't have to listen to it if you don't like it.
