AltrOck Productions è un’iniziativa di Marcello Marinone, nata nel 2005 con la prima edizione del festival dedicato al rock più sperimentale e «di confine» e proseguita nel 2006 con la nascita dell’omonima etichetta insieme a Francesco Zago, tenuta a battesimo dalla pubblicazione di Yugen – Labirinto d’acqua. Obiettivo del festival così come dell’etichetta è quello di produrre, promuovere e proporre in varie forme quanto di meglio l’underground musicale italiano (ma non solo) ha da offrire, dalla sperimentazione all’avant-jazz, dagli eredi del RIO alla colta contemporanea.
AltrOck Productions was born in 2005 from an idea by Marcello Marinone, who organized the first edition of a festival devoted to experimental and «on the borders» music, and, together with Francesco Zago, established the homonym label, whose first release was Yugen’s Labirinto d’acqua. The aim both of the festival and label is to produce, promote and propose in various forms the best of what actual underground musical italian (but not only) scene offers, from experimental to avant-jazz, from RIO’s heritage to classic contemporain.
