Aluminum Knot Eye spurted forth from a pus-filled boil of ancient field recordings done by founder Keith Vercauteren under that very same name. These early moments of masturbatory drivel were done in various small towns of rural Wisconsin. The actual performing entity first emerged the big city of Milwaukee, WI at the tail end of 1996, comprising a line up of Vercauteren (vocals, guitar), William Vollriede (bass guitar), Maciek Mielczarek (keyboard, guitar) and Jon Richardson (drums). Hastily made recordings and infrequent sloppy performances occurred during the group's infancy. Mielczarek took a leave of absence in the spring of 1998 and was replaced by Dan Schierl (keyboard and electronics). This period saw performances and recordings becoming increasingly drunken and violent. Aluminum Knot Eye were blacklisted from various establishments and local chapters of various secret societies. Schierl went undercover to combat such enemies in early 2000 and was replaced by Mark Biermann (guitar). Mielczarek (keyboard) returned to active duty in 2003. Since then, Aluminum Knot Eye managed to release an actual CD/LP called Trunk Lunker in 2004 along with a few compilation appearances. A wider-ranging and higher-quality, if still limited, live schedule also became a reality. A 7-inch single came out on Big Black Hole Records in 2007. In that same year, Aluminum Knot Eye officially celebrated it's 10th anniversary as a live unit with a wild'n'crazy show at their favorite bar, the Circle A. Heading into 2008, the band is concentrating on new material and hope to have more new releases soon, including archival material from the old days. Stay tuned...

The interview turned out pretty great I think. I gotta clean it up before I send it too Rich. I laughed transcribing the whole thing. I wish there was a way to take sound clips from the tape. That would make it that more epic.
Pink Reason homecoming and tour send off at the Eagle's Club! first Green Bay show in over two years!
Wednesday, March 18, 2009 8:45pm Eagles Club Webster Ave. across from St. Vinnies Green Bay, WI
Pink Reason (Brooklyn - Siltbreeze records) Hometown loser (voted least likely to succeed) heads to the big city and makes a bit of a name for himself. The bridges back home still smoldering all fanfare muted or absent still.
Hue Blanc's Joyless Ones (Algoma - S-S Records) A drunken mess of depraved beauty committing the lives, loves and losses of their community to vinyl only to toss all record sacrificially into the great lake that pounds violently against their frozen shores.
Silent Drape Runners (Green Bay) Former Mystery Girl, current Joyless One and all around stand up guy. The brains behind the boards of many a classic Wisconsin recording shining bright front and center winning the hearts and minds of all who witness.
