Alioune Wade alias ALUNE, est né le 09 juin 1978 à Dakar (Sénégal) d'un père chef d'orchestre symphonique. Baigné très tôt dans un univers musical, il commence la musique dès l'âge de 6 ans et choisi à 13 ans son instrument de prédilection : la guitare basse. Dès lors, le jeune Alioune rêve de se lancer dans une carrière musicale. N'en déplaise à sa maman qui nourrit l'espoir de le voir poursuivre de longues études. Celle-ci, voulant le préserver des difficultés du métier de saltimbanque, tentera en vain de couper les cordes de la précieuse basse à l'aide d'un couteau à pain… Les longues heures de marche à la recherche d'un professeur de basse dans la région de Dakar, les nuits blanches à s'exercer sous les posters de son idole Marcus Miller, les escapades nocturnes pour se cacher de sa passion, ne l'ont pas découragé. A 15 ans, il joue avec de petites formations de variétés qui se produisent dans les hôtels de Dakar, et commence ses premiers enregistrements studio pour un cachet de 250 francs CFA (environ 0.38 euros) le titre ! Constatant la détermination et le talent d'Alune, son père le fait jouer parfois dans son orchestre classique pour remplacer au pied levé un bassiste absent. Alune n'a alors que 17 ans. Il acquiert sous la baguette de son père, une aisance de la lecture musicale et améliore son écoute des différents instruments symphoniques. A l'issue d'une audition en 1996, il est choisi à 18 ans pour être le bassiste attitré de l'artiste international sénégalais Ismaël LÔ. Avec l'auteur de Tajabone, il se produit sur de nombreuses scènes d'Europe, d'Amérique et d'Afrique ; ainsi que dans de prestigieux festivals tel que LE PALEO FESTIVAL de Nyon (Suisse). Parallèlement, Alune collabore aussi avec d'autres artistes comme Youssou Ndour, Cheick Tidiane Seck, Bobby Mc Ferrin et surtout Joe Zawinul qui l'invitera a jouer dans son club le ‘Birdland' à Vienne (Autriche). Fort de ses expériences, c'est tout naturellement qu'Alune se tourne vers une carrière solo. En 2006, sort son premier album solo intitulé MBOLO « union » en wolof, véritable florilège de ses influences assumées où la world music côtoie sans complexe le jazz. His father was the leader of a symphonic orchestra and it is quite naturally that he began to play music at the age of 6 years. At 13 years, he decides to choose the bass as the instrument that would follow him through his passion, to the great despair of his mother who wished to see him continuing his studies. So she even tried to cut the cords of his bass with a knife, but in vain. Thanks to the support of his father, he gets a chance to follow his dream, even if it means to make kilometres on foot to find a professor that can teach him how to play music, or staying awake all night long to finish his exercises. At 15 years, he plays with local bands which play in Dakar hotels, and begins its first recordings in friends studios with a seal of 250 francs CFA (0.38 euros) the track! At 17 years, his father requests his collaboration from time to time to play in his classical orchestra, to replace the bass player when this one was not available. The exercise is extremely frightening for his age, but allows him to acquire an ease on musical reading by listening the members of the group. All that under the benevolence of his father... In 1996, after an audition, he is chosen at the age of 18 years to be the bass player of Ismael LÔ, one of the most prestigious musicians of the African continent. He perform with him on many scenes like the "Zenith" in Paris, France and some of the biggest festivals in the world like the "PALEO FESTIVAL" in Nyon (Switzerland). In parallel, Alune also collaborates with other artists like Youssou Ndour, Cheick Tidiane Seck, Bobby Mc Ferrin and especially Joe Zawinul who invited him to play in his club the ‘Birdland' in Wien (Austria). Thanks to his strong experience, it is quite naturally that Alune turns to a career solo. In 2006, its first album solo entitled MBOLO "union" in wolof, a subtle mixture of an eclectic and pricking musical landscape. The purified atmospheres and the spontaneity of Jazz music get involved with other type of music, so weaving a solid link between Africa and other continents.
