I like old b&w classics, musicals like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers or Calamity Jane, to modern day movies like the Harry Potter flicks or the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I like comedies and romantic comedies. I like Sci-Fi movies as well and Drama. As you can see, my taste in films as well as music is pretty broad. It just depends on my mood.

Thanks to DVR, I can watch them later though and forward through commercials. ;)

Books
I love to read. I read many types of books from Metaphysics, Fiction and Non-Fiction, Poetry, Historical Romance, and Mystery. I am even known to read books of reference. I have a dictionary and thesaurus handy a lot of the time, because I love words and it excites me to be introduced to a new beautiful word, so long as they mean something wonderful of course. ;)~
The Harry Potter series rocks. The Twilight Saga, The Host. Tuesday's With Morrie was a wonderful book (a must read). Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen will always be one my favorites....I absolutely adore her. My favorite poet is Robert Frost and I also have a special place for Emily Dickinson, Poe, Keats, Blake, and Alexander Pope. As for historical romance I think Julie Garwood is my girl, although there are many underestimated authors in my opinion.
I collect very old books from 1800's and older (the older the better)...I guess you can call it a hobby. I love the look, the feel, and the smell of them. I can't help to wonder who owned them, who held them. Was it a gift to them from their lover? Did he carry it in the breast pocket of his jacket or did she hold it in delicate silk gloved hands? :) I love to wonder about times past, I can't seem to help myself.

Heroes
My mom who was a single parent and raised my sister and I the best way she could. My two precious children who introduced me to a love beyond compare from the moment I first held them in my arms and as I watch them grow to the men they will some day be. Rob who is my best friend and loves me unconditionally. People who are brave enough to just be themselves! Anyone who cares enough to take action in their own lives and be the change they want to see in the world. Anyone who makes a positive difference and shows great compassion. People who use their voices for the things that matter. AND...

I am still becoming who ever I am going to be. I am kind, considerate, and very caring. I am a loyal friend and passionate in my beliefs. I am a lover of life, love, laughter, and nature. I am an artist, a Poet, and photographer. I love to draw, paint, and sculpt. I have also done ceramics and painted murals. I like to design and I love to write poetry, short stories, etc. You can read my poetry in my blogs. I read very often and love it(see the book section below. I have interest in Metaphysics as well. I am really open-minded, but my own person. I am who I am and I don't try to be anyone else. I love to have deep and intelligent conversations with like minds. I like to sing and dance. I enjoy Kickboxing my punching bag and Yoga. I also love to cook. I plan to teach myself how to play guitar. Music is a passion. I adore being outdoors, especially during the fall when the air is cool and crisp and it makes everything smell clean. Every breath is a sigh. I love nature and I try to be active in environmental and world issues as best as I can. I try to do what I can to spread awareness about these issues and do my best to take an active role in using my voice for the things that matter to me. You can be a part of this mission too by visiting my third myspace page at: http://www.myspace.com/Use_Your_Voice.
I love photography. I love to take photos, especially of simple things and everyday people so that people can see the world through my eyes. When you take a photograph you are freezing a moment in time and making a memory that is tangible and can be shared throughout time long after you are gone from this place. A photograph becomes art when you apply imagination and personal creativity to it. I currently shoot with a Canon EOS 30D. I also am currently building a webpage that will feature my many talents (grin) when available. Because of limited time it is coming along A LOT slower than I would like though, so please be patient with me.
I am very creative. I love to create something new and my hands are always doodling at something. I like variety and I like change, so my work can tend to be pretty random. I am always trying to grow spiritually. I like to learn about culture and love to travel. I enjoy going to art galleries and museums. I LOVE antiques and anything old with history. I love anything from the Victorian or Regency era especially. I collect antique books, and jewelry when I can afford them. ;) I love those old antique traveling trunks that lock with a skeleton key. I like to write letters the old fashioned way, with parchment paper and sealing wax. Email is so convenient and trust me I take advantage of it fully, but hand-writing a note or letter seems more personal sometimes.
If you would like to get to know me better or more personally as friends do, please go to my personal profile at http://www.myspace.com/nucha8 (it is also my first friend in my top friends list with the display name "Nu") and feel free to add me, but only if you want to keep in touch. If you only wish to network then please just add this profile. Thanks.

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

Prayer For A Friend
----------------------
I sent a prayer to God today
Because you are my friend.
I asked that He bring your problems
Abruptly to an end.
I prayed for resolution,
And for all your trials to cease.
But most of all, oh friend of mine,
I asked for God to bring you peace.

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
Video documentation of a performance piece by my friend Nate Kassel who rode around on his bike slapping high-fives to people who were trying to hail taxi cabs in NYC. Enjoy!
