Whats up everybody, Donny here. This site is dedicated to my new project, "Alvah music". My band, "Myliye" just finished a new record , "Brain Obeys the Heart"and we are all real happy with the way it turned out. This is my sort of solo venture, a project dedicated to all those, "other" songs. I decided to use my middle name, "Alvah", in memory of my grandfather Alvah Ray Dailey, for whom I was named after. I hope everyone enjoys the music, this has been a blast for me. The idea of doing a solo gig arouse while working with people in the studio, recording with Myliye. I have a lot of songs and when I was approached by Danny Campbell about recording an album with him I thought it would be great. Danny payed a listen to 20 or so songs I had recorded and selected 12 that he thought we should do. Over the course of the next 6-9 mos. we started playing, and recording this album. We arrived at 15 songs total, due to inspired writing along the way. We were able to get some of our good friends and fantastic musicians together to create a particular sound that we were looking for. Dave Curtis really set the project off with all his diversity and skill, playing multiple instruments at a high level of technicality and creativity. Davey Carano, just as talented, always delivers great licks and colorful chord combinations on the guitar or bass. Danny Campbell is as skilled of a studio drummer as I've ever seen, and I was just glad to be surrounded by friends in support of the songs. On the album you will find an array of sounds ranging from Bosanova to Afro-Cuban. Surf rock to country tones, songs I wrote for a couple friends weddings, songs written in the car driving down the coast looking for surf, and even a dixieland song written about a man sentenced to death by guillotine! Hahaha. Anyways, we plan on fully supporting this release and are currently shopping around. If you have any questions shoot me a line and I'll try to get back to you soon. Keep checking back!
