Né a Valparaiso (Chili), Alvaro Covarrubias se produit en public dès son plus jeune âge. Il donne des concerts dans son pays natal, en Suède, en Allemagne, au Danemark et en Espagne.
Il va ensuite parfaire sa formation musicale en Suède et en France, dans les classes des maîtres comme Ronny Carlsson, Raul Maldonado, Bétho Davezac et Alberto Ponce, dans lesquelles il obtiendra brillamment ses diplômes : 1er Prix a l'Unanimité avec Félicitations du jury de la Ville de Paris, Médaille d'Or a l'Unanimité avec Félicitations du jury de l'Ecole National de Musique de Meudon, 1er Prix du Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Harnosand (Suède), Grand Prix de la Culture de la Ville de Sollentuna (Suède).
Invité par de grands festivals, et de nombreux orchestres, Alvaro Covarrubias a joué en tant que soliste, avec l'Orchestre de Chambre de Kaliningrad (Russie), l'Orchestre Symphonique de Harnosand (Suède) ou encore avec l'Orchestre de Chambre Pierre Ménet (France). A participé à différents enregistrements pour des chaînes de télévision et de radios (TV2 Suède, FR3 France, RFI, Radio Beethoven au Chili, Guitarra y Luz Paraguay, Radio Suédoise Internationale).
Installé en France, il poursuit sa carrière de concertiste qui lui a permis de se produire notamment devant le Roi de Suède, au Portugal ou en Chine.
Il enregistre plusieurs CD dont son dernier « Guitare Latine» qui a été chaleureusement accueilli par la presse spécialisée.

Alvaro Covarrubias was born in Valparaiso, Chile. He has been playing the guitar for an audience since his early childhood, performing in Chile, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, and Spain. To bring his musical education to perfection he continued his studies in Sweden and in France, studying with masters like Ronny Carlsson, Raul Maldonado, Bétho Davezac and Alberto Ponce. He obtained his diplomas at the highest degrees.
Covarrubias has been invited to play as a soloist with the Kaliningrad Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra (Russia), the Harnosand Symphonic Orchestra (Sweden) and with the Pierre Ménet Chamber Orchestra (France).
Alvaro Covarrubias lives in France, where he is professor at the Conservatory of Dourdan and continues his concert career performing all over the world. From Chile to China he has been asked to perform for enthusiastic audiences among who was the King of Sweden.
