Alvaro G. Velilla aka Al Velilla has been a busy cat since the very beginning of his career as music enthusiast, producer, label manager, and DJ. Born and raised in Spain, Al was one of the first from his generation to explore new horizons for the most jazzualistic, avant garde, and sophisticated sounds in the 90’s. With roots firmly in classic funk, jazz, and the most elegant techno, his combination of the new and old and a love for more danceable vibes such as deep tech, broken beats, and soulful house has earned him an international reputation as an exceptional selector and DJ.
As a studio engineer and producer, he explores different sounds and tendencies. "My goal when I’m in front of all those machines is being able to fuse different kinds of productions and sounds in a successful way by using a combination of vintage elements such as samplers or synths and hi-technology." He has released various original tracks and remixes for many international labels such as Om Records, Warner Music, Pacha Recordings, Acryl Music, Your Lips, Justified Cause, Juicy Music, and Music Brokers under different monikers such as Al Velilla, The Soulfulas, Montesco, Exelar, Tres Bastardos, Al Velilla's Tercet, Damian Salazar, and 2 Compadres. The list of works hasn’t stopped growing thanks to his frenetic activity in the studio.
His vibrant career as DJ during has included performances with renowned artists such as Mark Farina, Jesse Rose, Kiko Navarro, Jazzanova,King Britt,Jimpster, Johnny Fiasco, Justin Martin, Marc Romboy, Miguel Migs or Aquabassino just to mention some. “I feel very honored of have had the opportunity to share the booth with such an amazing collection of artists – it’s all about learning, you know?"
Modern Electrics is Al’s personal project founded with Jesus de Miguel (Multidisciplinar Artists) where he enjoys something that most labels cannot provide: "We opened Modern Electrics because we understood after a long time working in the industry that we needed our own platform to release underground electronic music and plastic art that we truly believe in. We only work with close friends, we still press on vinyl, we have an independent magazine, and for us all this means freedom."
After more than 12 years living in the Mediterranean (Barcelona and Ibiza) working for Pacha Recordings and hosting one of the most respected radio shows (Suburbana), Al now lives in San Francisco and is very proud to be part of the Om Records family. He enjoys life by the bay, eating tacos, working at the studio, and biking around the city.

Productos BMM presents:
BMM 33 Tantrum Light LSD Island EP with the remixes of Paul Hunter, Da Trash & Zimaleto Genre: Minimal, Techno, Tech-House.
Some comments: Carsten Rausch: The Da Trash Remix is a cool piece of percussive Techno. I will definetely play that. Dave James: Yeh I like the original trippy vocals. Galuszka: Tantrum Light offers a track that is straight up techno. The mood of the original mix is very Terminator 2 (Judgment Day) in its vocal work and sound choice. The remixes of this project ad funk, especially the Da Trash remix with it's rolling quality. Bodgan Taran: I just love the melody on Zimaleto remix of LSD Island. The Reddman: I listened all the remixes and was very impressed! I have to say I just loved the Paul Hunter remix of the LSD Island track. There was something about it that just kept the groove going for me. Moog Conspiracy (Elektrotribe / Buena Onda): I ll play Tantrum light - Da Trash remix. Marc Fuccio (Fresh DJS): Favoutite mix is Paul Hunter remix. Wicked groove of a bass line that instantly got me to my feet. Great production and construction. Graeme Park: I really like the Zimaleto Remix of Tantrum Light's LSD Island. Such a great groove. <a href="//www
