My drumming influences are as varied as could possibly be.... but lets just say for the record,
Charlie Watts, Ringo, W.C. Holland, ( Johnny Cash's main drummer) Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, John Bonham, Mick Fleetwood, Ronnie Tutt, Hal Blaine, Tommy Lee, D.J. Fontanna, Louie Bellson.....and way too many more.... WOW I guess you get the idea, imagine all these different guys at the dinner table at once!
I have always felt there is something to learn from every single player out there.
Sounds Like
I can pretty much fit in with whatever the style of music calls for,........or whatever I'm being paid to sound like...LOL
I Started playing drums in 1976, My uncle, Rick Stevens, was a local drummer in the Lehigh Valley area w/ many local swing bands, and he would show me a few things and never cared if I played his drums. Then in 1978 I started to study w/ a host of the most talented drummers in the area such as Ron Ritterman, Gary Rissmiller, Tom Billman,Tony Nichols, and Kevin Soffera. ( does anyone remember Ken Brader's, Circle Music, Or Marshall Mondillo's Music Loft?) Started playin' the dive bars in high school at the age of 16 when I quit the high school marching band for some paying gigs.....(the most fun I ever had hangin' w/ the big dogs!) Eventually went on to play w/ many different styles of bands throughout the 80's & 90"s Everything from jazz standards to Van Halen!
In 1997 I started a small sound and light company which soon evolved into rather successful part time business. I have enjoyed playing with and Running sound for many Lehigh Valley and North Jersey bands over the years such as J.W. and the Honky Tonk Buicks, Cross Cut Saw, Brown Sugar, Illinois Slim and The Maxwell Street Band, Magic, The Sarah Ayers Band, Dr. Seuss, Midnight Shift, The Mississippi Pig Farmers, Big Daddy and The Wildcatz, The Thom Palmer Band, and many more. As of this writing I am currently involved with The Mystery Train band which performs w/ Elvis entertainers throughout the NJ/PA area. I am also currently working steady with one of the Lehigh Valley's most respected harmonica players and vocalists, James Supra, in The James Supra Blues Band. A very good friend, Davey Werkhiser, formerly of Lehigh Valley rock icons "Magnum" recently put together a Jimmy Buffett tribute band called "Davey Wow and the Wave runners" which I am also a member along with a host of other extremely talented players. As busy as this keeps me, I am always interested in doing fill in work w/ bands of pretty much any style..........when I'm not trying to sneak in a nap!...

Normally I don't post a gig notice on a band or artist's page when they have a gig on the same night. But Al said to do it! How cool is that? Al said:
"Hey Bill thanks for the invite, I'm doing a jazz trio gig in "Joisey" that night! please keep me posted on your gigs, and feel free to post them on my site to help get the word out! We need to network through this economy and keep people reminded that live music is still out there!"
Al's 100% right. The economy be damned, we musicians still need you folks to come out of the cocoon and hear us play. Too many clubs have already had to cut back and live music is the first thing they cut. So if you're not going to be in NJ listening to Al and happen to be in the Allentown area, then Pulse would be pleased to entertain you.
