Always Never are a new band from the Exeter area of Devon formed by vocalist/guitarist/keyboard player Matt Lockyer, guitarist Chris Finch and bass player Si Roocroft. They met at Exeter Academy of Music and Sound and added talented drummer Frank Dennis to complete the line up.
Their goal was to create contempary yet ambitous music, Influenced as much by the past (Faith No More, Rush, Queen, Thin Lizzy) as the present (Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Mew) creating a unique sound which ranges from hard metal guitars and screaming twin leads to lush vocal harmonies and chiming melodies sometimes all within the course of one song.
"Always Never tread a fine line between energy and virtuosity. Like Rush or Deep Purple all those decades ago, they can make an eight minute song seem like it’s over too soon. Not many bands can get away with more than one guitar solo in the same track without coming across as hopelessly self-indulgent, but Always Never get the balance right every time." - Jason Wray Stevenson, Organiser of the Tiverton Underground events

Hey u guys, Thanks 4 comin 2 the party last night, I really apreciated it. I thought i was guna av an easy evening and u boys asked me to get on the kit. As fear ran through my veins i thought i might sneak off. Then Butler Bass player from the Prospects caught me looked me straight in the eye and said 'get on the kit its purple haze time'. So we did it. What happened next was a haze alright. Rich got on the bass and Prospects Dale stepped up to the mic and away it went. People talk about Jams not quite getting to grips with what it means. But you savages entered into the true spirit of a jam without any fear. You know it!!
