Bassist/Vocalist "AlyCat" is kind of a big deal. She is a singer and a songwriter, but not a singer/songwriter. AlyCat and her band will be your tour guides through many musical terrains. The vehicles of choice are rock, funk, jazz, and classical themes. The powerfully soulful vocals and harmonies are the leaders of the pack. The sincerity of Aly's voice and her lyrics will hypnotize you until you are deep inside the song with her. Each tune will range from sweet, angelic tones straight through to cries of soulful, gospel-like force. John Von Glaubitz uses his guitar as a palette for painting perfect colorful themes in and out of the song. Aly's basslines fill a big groove on the bottom floor of the music. The drums wrap it all up with the most infectious grooves. When you hear the pieces come together you will have no choice but to be swept away. AlyCat's unruly persona demands the crowd's attention and holds it until the very end. No matter what style she is groovin', this girl's music will surely get you movin'. Aly has toured throughout the United Sates. She has shared the stage with Rusted Root, G. Love and Special Sauce, Kenny Rogers, David Bromberg, Angel Band, Joan Osborne, Levon Helm, Arlo Guthrie, Donald Byrd, George Stanford, and more. She has performed at legendary venues such as The Fillmore West, The Great American Music Hall, Stone Pony, World Café Live, the Queen Theater, Philadelphia Folk Festival, Levon Helm's Ramble Sessions in Woodstock, and many more. In 2008, she was selected as Philadelphia's songwriter of the year by the PSP. Some of her heavy influences include: Stevie Wonder, Nikka Costa, N'Dea Davenport, Aretha Franklin, Stuart Zender, Mike Gordon, Bootsy Collins and James Jamerson. Bio:

AlyCat is kind of a big deal. She is a singer and a songwriter, but not really a singer/songwriter. And she plays bass. Her songs are what they call "spunk funk"...aka a tasty blend of funk, soul, jazz, rock and jam. AlyCat's unruly persona consistently demands the crowd's attention and holds it until the very end . When she grabs her bass she always proceeds to play her fingers off. AlyCat and her band will be your tour guides on a trip through various musical terrain. Sections of funk, hip-hop, reggae, electronica, and rock can sometimes appear all in one song. "It's one part funk, one part soul, with a splash of rock and pop. We jam out, but not so much that you need drugs to appreciate it....although it does help.", she notes. The lyrics will make u laugh and sometimes will make you wanna punch a wall. No matter what style they are groovin, it will surely get you movin'. AlyCat has toured all over the U.S. She has played in concerts and festivals where she shared the stage with noteable bands: Rusted Root, G. Love and Special Sauce, Kenny Rogers, David Bromberg, Angel Band, Joan Osborne, Donald Byrd, George Stanford, and many, many more. Some of her influences include: Stevie Wonder, Nikka Costa, N'Dea Davenport, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Diane Reeves, Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Holiday, Phish, Jamiroquai, Stuart Zender, Mike Gordon, Bootsy Collins and James Jamerson.
