Aly Cook is one of New Zealand's most successful self managed independent artists. Aly has built a worldwide network of devoted industry fans purely on the strength of her musical talent and her vibrant "can do" personality.

Her NZ accolades include Nomination for Juice TV Dance video of the Year 2001 with DNE for "Be There". Nomination for New Zealand APRA Country Song of the Year 2005 with "I Wonder" & finalist in the MLT Songwriting Awards 2007 with "Grow".

Aly's vast songwriting experience was also recently recognised in the Australasian Performing Rights Association magazine educating NZ songwriters.

The consummate underdog, Aly is "the every man's pioneering woman". She is a larger than life pioneering personality in the lithe frame of a beauty queen.

Aly feeds her passion for the wild by raring and training horses on her Nelson lifestyle block in the heart of New Zealand's most beautiful country. She has however a well developed acumen for management, promotions and marketing and has built her career just as she has her farm land, through hard graft, skill and dedication.

Aly brings this pioneering spirit and passion to her music and It comes through in her singing presenting a voice of rare feminine power unusual to a laid back NZ. Women of power like this aren't just rare to New Zealand, they are rare everywhere. Sometimes we need a voice that shakes us and wakes us. She reminds me most of Melissa Etheridge whose small frame shocked us with an uncommonly powerful vocal.

I'm excited that Aly is sharing her voice with the world. I'm more excited however that this voice carries a great big spirit behind it, one that reminds us it's ok to aspire whoever we are, wherever we are. That's a voice that we all need to hear
