A note about the logic and fun of this site – According to earth’s timeline, Queen Alyss at age 20 is busy ruling Wonderland in 1872– however – Alyss is not restricted to any timeline found in our world. Alyss deep within her Wonderland Queendom is busy IMAGINING – Imagining the future and sending it to our world. One day as she sat hidden in the Whispering Woods she Imagined how exciting it would be to have a whole group of friends that she could exchange ideas with, complain to and just be free with – this Imagining came on a particularly annoying day when Bibwit and Generals DoppelGanger and everyone just expected a little too much and Alyss longed for an escape from her duties as Queen and a place to go where she could just have fun. And so it began…Alyss Imagining what she would tell all her new friends…what she would share…what she would want to know about them…and the afternoon suddenly opened up to a whole new world…
..Sigh. Why must it always be about ME? But when you’re Queen I suppose there is a certain expectation of sharing. Well…in case you haven’t heard yet I am the original heir to the Wonderland throne. That’s right, I was born to be Queen of Wonderland just like my mother and her mother before her and back back back. But this matriarchal line was shattered when my Aunt Redd, bloody murderous over being removed from the line because of her dangerous and dark use of Imagination, invaded Heart Palace on my seventh birthday. I don’t remember much of that day except it was the last time I saw my mother alive. She ordered Royal Bodyguard Hatter Madigan to take me away to someplace safe and keep me there until I was old enough to return to rule. I begged her to let me stay…but no…I was forced to flee. Redd’s Cat chased us through the Whispering Wood to the Pool of Tears. We escaped at the last millisecond with the Cat’s claws ripping away part of my birthday gown…that’s how close it was. I could even smell his hot fishy breath. Horrid. But instead of leaving Wonderland together, Hatter and I were separated by the incredible energy vortex of the pool – torn apart – I emerged through a portal into Victorian London in the year 1859 without a single clue as to what had happened to my bodyguard.
Eventually I was adopted by the Liddell family and came to know a kindly photographer and scholar named Reverend Charles Dodgson who harbored ambitions of being a writer. I told him my harrowing tale in the hope that he would write a book that would help Hatter Madigan to find me and take me home. Instead he wrote Alice’s Adventure’s Underground – total childish nonsensical -- he had felt my story to be too violent and horrible to write for children! It was all changed! He even spelled my name wrong. And made up a name of his own to sign it with, Lewis Carroll. Hmmphh!! I was so mad at him! Well that’s the quick version of my story. You can read the long version, quite titillatingly told by literary supersleuth Frank Beddor in The Looking Glass Wars & Seeing Redd. Thank you Mr. Beddor for finally writing the book that I once begged “Lewis Carroll” to write. But I no longer harbor any ill will towards Mr. Carroll…afterall…it all turned out alright…eventually.
