Alyssa and Bret Michaels
July 2007, Alyssa competed for the Texas Idol in Garland, Texas. This was her first vocal competition other than pageants. The competition was very difficult and Alyssa went into the competition with a positive attitude thinking this would be a wonderful learning experience for her. She sang five songs. At the end of the day, the winner was to be announced. She wished everyone good luck and when they called her name as the winner of the 2007 Texas Idol competition, she was in tears. She was so excited and of course very proud of what she had accomplished.

Fifteen year old Alyssa Freeman sings with a voice that will cause you to stop what you are doing and listen. She has been dancing and singing since she was only two years old. Went to her first concert, LeAnn Rimes, at the age of four and from that day on she said that she wanted to be on that big stage like LeAnn, performing.
At age 6 Alyssa won Entertainer of The Year on her first vocal competition in the pageants.
At the tender age of 7 her MiMi was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Alyssa wanted to do something special for her so during the Little League football game that her Dad was coaching at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. They let her put on her Dallas Cowboys mini Cheerleader outfit and danced by herself in the field at Texas Stadium. She was given a standing ovation, afterward taking the taped halftime event to Mimi in the hospital. Later that same year she lost Mimi to cancer.
Sissy Rowland began coaching Alyssa, teaching her to develop her own style, even at such a young age. Her first Opry audition was the Wylie Opry. At the end of the show as people were leaving, Alyssa began singing Patsy Cline songs to audition and the people returned to their seats to hear her. The rest is history!

There's more, much more to Christmas Than just candle-lights and cheer; It's the spirit of sweet friendship That brightens all the years; It is thoughtfulness and kindness, It is hope that is reborn again, For peace, for understanding And for goodwill to humans!
