all things Halloween, being arts & craft-y, costuming, gothic fashion, evocative dark imagery, dark music (goth, metal, etc), art history, Religious artwork, Victoriana, the Pre-Raphaelites (especially Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Edward Burne-Jones), Classical Mythology, Egyptology, classical culture, European History, traveling to new places, hopeless romanticism, writing, reading, introspection, waterfalls, puppets, marionettes, harlequins, dolls, carnivals, the circus, graveyards, churches, etc... Oh, and being a cartoon.
Music
My favorite music makes me feel something that nothing else can imitate. It is sacred.
Some of my favorite artists: (MANY are missing)
Genres: Goth, goth metal, dark/apocalyptic folk, darkwave, old-school goth rock, deathrock, black metal, dark electronic and spooky carnivalesque music.
I get lost in the sounds of cellos, violins, and exotic oriental instruments.
Movies
The Nightmare Before Christmas, Bram Stoker's Dracula (i.e. the Francis Ford Coppola version), The Dark Crystal, Legend, Tim Burton, Corpse Bride, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Sleepy Hollow, Interview with the Vampire, Fearless Vampire Killers, Nosferatu (both versions - for different reasons!), Shadow of the Vampire, La Cité des Enfants Perdus (The City of Lost Children), The Ninth Gate, Willow, The Princess Bride, House of a Thousand Corpses, Shaun of the Dead, The Crow, Dark City, Fritz Lang's Metropolis, Thesis, Being John Malkovich... I'll come back to this later.
Television
Heroes.
Books
My favorite authors and works include: Milton's Paradise Lost, William Blake, Edgar Allan Poe, Goethe's Faust, Bram Stoker's Dracula, gothic tales, historical fiction, books that deal with religious (and anti-religious) themes, Arturo Perez-Reverte, Umberto Eco, Isabel Allende, dark fantasy. Older Anne Rice books (especially the first 3 Vampire Chronicles, Memnoch the Devil, and Cry to Heaven), Ray Bradbury (especially Something Wicked This Way Comes), Lewis Carroll - Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass, Michael Ende's The Neverending Story, Harry Potter, Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy, twisted fairy tales, Halloween picture books, Roman Dirge, Lenore, Gloom Cookie, Nick Cave - And the Ass Saw the Angel, Oscar Wilde - The Picture of Dorian Gray, Patrick Suskind - Perfume, Milan Kundera, Genesis and the Book of Revelations (yes, as in the Bible).
I take myself very seriously. Oh, wait... no I don't. I'm a cliche of myself.

ALONE *Edgar Allan Poe*
From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were -- I have not seen
As others saw -- I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I lov'd, I loved alone.
Then -- in my childhood -- in the dawn
Of a most stormy life -- was drawn
From ev'ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that 'round me roll'd
In its autumn tint of gold --
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass'd me flying by --
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.

Who I'd like to meet: A bunch of dead artists... and some live ones too.
For the record, I only really add people who I know in real life, or artists/musicians who inspire me. I wouldn't have time to keep up with people otherwise, and I don't see the point in adding people here unless I do.
Thank you for your sweet comment, means a lot!! Miss talking with you too (& laughing with you! Fun times :) & oh yes, high hopes as well to see you one of these days! *Chocolate kissies & HUGE huggie!*

I am here for the summer, but I came down with this awful sinus infection and nonstop cough for which they had to put me on 4 meds and antibiotics, one including codeine, heehee :D I'm finally getting better so I'll be around.
Thanx, things have been really busy here and I'm trying to get together the funds for a visit. I can't really say when it's going to happen though. Hoping to get down there soon, I miss you all. Hope all is well with you!
So what if it was on a Monday? You should have gone! Show your devotion! Lol, I'm such a groupie.
Next time I come down will be April 16 to see Yann Tiersen. I don't know if I'll go to Funker Vogt the next day because we have Orthodox Easter that weekend and I'm not sure yet if we're gonna go spend it with my sister in Rochester. If not, you'll see me then! Sorry I was a bad friend last week, but like I told you it was only a week and more of a crazy run around with family and taxes. Talk to you soon!
Dude, she's like the nicest, sweetest person ever! They originally kicked me off line cuz it was too late but she told them she wanted to stay to sign for everybody. I had an Arden B bag cuz I had gone shopping there earlier, and she was like, "That's one of my favorite stores!"
She drops F-bombs every second, lol! She should be doing a signing in NYC, no?
haha, pretty challenging to treat such an extensive topic appropriately within 20 minutes... in the meantime i changed gears as i'm all over arpeggio now. :)
