About Alzir - Back in the game and looking for gigs!
Alzir are a three piece stoner rock act hailing from the small village of Liphook in Hampshire. After a concession of line up changes over the years, the current line up now consists of Chris Charles on lead/rhythm guitars and vocals, Stu Snelling on bass and backing vocals and Phil Gerbi on drums. The present line up have been writing and performing together since the summer of 2005. They have made it their mission to write the music that they love to play and you love to hear. Taking their influences from 70’s rock and metal bands such as Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, and more contemporary bands like Clutch, Kyuss, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. Alzir are an eclectic mix of blues, grunge and stoner rock. Although their music has darker overtones, Alzir manage to keep their music upbeat with an intoxicating groove that infects anyone who comes into contact with it. Do not be fooled by the fact there are only three members, this power trio’s sound is like being hit by a sonic sledge hammer. With their low strung, monstrous riffs, blazing guitar solos, chest rattling bass lines and pounding drum beats. Alzir are definitely a force to be reckoned with, so… Watch out people Alzir are coming to desecrate you!
