Make A Difference!
.. ..

Here at the New York City Chapter, we are busy planning a morning of fun, entertainment, exercise and remembrance for the families and friends in our New York community. We've set our Memory Walk 2008 goal high - $1.25 Million! We are on the way and will reach it with your support! Together we will MOVE a nation to end Alzheimer's.

Memory Walk 2008 is on Sunday, October 26th. This year we will be entering Riverside Park at West 83rd Street & Riverside Drive.

If you have not already done so, please join us by clicking here to register as an individual, to start a team or to join one of the many teams already on the MOVE! Once you register, you will receive your own webpage where you can send e-mails to ask family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, fellow students ...... to support you by joining your Memory Walk team or by making a donation.

Help us spread the word by displaying Memory Walk 2008 posters at stores where you do business, organizations and companies. We also have 2008 brochures with registration and contribution forms ready to send you - both in English & Spanish. Our Memory Walk Hotline @ 646-744-2997 is available for all questions, or send an e-mail to ssugarman@alznyc.org, our Director of Marketing & Communications. If you would like to volunteer the day of the walk you can get in contact with Sherri Partridge, our Director of Volunteer Leadership & Development at her email spartridge@alznyc.org.

In an effort to encourage even more families to get involved in Memory Walk, Evercare and the NYC Chapter have teamed up to provide a rest area for persons with Alzheimer's disease and their families to gather and enjoy the event. Evercare Nurse Practitioners and Care Managers will be on-site at the Evercare Family Tent to watch over people with Alzheimer's, giving family members a chance to participate in Memory Walk knowing their relative is being supervised by professionals. The Evercare Family Tent is designed to have families sit, relax and receive a free health screening from Evercare clinical staff. Evercare Family Tent attendance is limited; reservations are required. Please RSVP by Sept. 28th–Call: 212-216-6986 or E-mail: cvillacis@uhc.com.

Sponsorships begin at $3,000 and the 2008 Sponsorship Opportunities packet is available at www.alznyc.org/memorywalk.

Bill Ritter & Alice Stockton-Rossini are returning as the 2008 Masters of Ceremonies. David Hyde Pierce and additional guests will be coming out to show their support October 26. Many special events will also be taking place!

Bring your entire family, even the 4-legged walkers. They will receive a Memory Walk 2008 Doggie Bandana at the DOGGIE DUGOUT. Also, with lots of new addtions, our 2008 KIDZ KORNER will be bigger and better.

So join us and ask family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, classmates, neighborhood storeowners to support you as we walk with a purpose to MOVE a nation to end Alzheimer's. Walk with us for new treatments, better lives and a cure!
