i dont have much to tell dude, the concert was awesum, i shot lots of vids (despite being busted for twice for shooting vids). saosin was the best of all the acts that nite. and i know most of their songs, not too familiar with their newest album. but i think translating the name demo and the album *saosin* r two break thru of post-hc scene merging with sumwhat poppier genre without being too spoiled.
i keep getting blown off by san diego musicians man lol two practice sessions got cancelled. but i have another one on sunday. :)
those bands r like nothing i listen to (lol) but maybe i like queens of the stone age and nirvana... yea mix my chem and 30 secs 2 mars wud be cool. :) ask someone to record it! so i can c it.
lol i get a lot of boys. ;O boys appreciate me much more than girls do.
im jamming with a guitarist & a singer on friday, then im going to a saosin show saturday and ask around at the show, and on sunday im jamming with different guitarist and a singer. so i think something will happen. if not ill just shoot myself. xD
i dont think im that famous, but i know i WUD BE if i played guitar. xD there r ten times more guitarists in this world than bassists and drummers combined. also i dont have a drumset so i cant make any drum vids. :/
so on average u have to learn one song per day. doable. but not ideal. they shud have a pretty good sense that u didnt have a lot of time to practice so dont stress out too much, just do ur best. :)

cuz i wana build muscle, u know, i wana look strong lol. i think girls like muscular guys than skinny guys. at least in america. :P also so other guys wont mess with me. ;) but its not working well as i said, im getting even skinnier. ;O
i have no idea about the marks, i dont know how to check them. its the first quarter at this college so i dont know when or how i can check my grades. i think there okay. im not really obsessed with grades, i focus more on what i can get out of classes which i can use in the future in my life.
wow when did u learn u had to learn those 7 songs? i hope u have or had enuf time to learn them. its not the best time of the year either bcuz ull have end of the term exams and whatnot. well good luck. :) and record the show if u cud!
life sucks! ive been working out for two months to build sum muscle, and instead of building it im losing weight! i used to weigh about 145 lbs (bout 66kg) before i started working out but now i only weight 137 lbs (bout 62kg). i dont think i had much fat to start with so i dont know why im losing weight. ;O and im about 5'10" (bout 170cm) tall.
andreee martinss. lol those two movies r both so violent! the first one, altho the plot was almost written, i just didnt think the audience wud believe that the boyfriend wud actually kill ppl to get the scholarship. i didnt believe he wud. so the sleep walker one mite be more believable cuz she is sleep walking, she cant control what she does.
u shud at least check out PI by darren aronofsky. the fountain was great as well, but it was sort of like an art film, so not many ppl got it.

haha likewise i like the song *mad world*. that song is very hauting. richard kelly is in my book in the whole neo-new age filmmaking of late 90s early 2000s along with darren aronofsky of requiem for a dream and paul thomas anderson of magnolia. (fight club came out in 1999 too) the story telling isnt straight forward, its very experimental in a way, which makes it hard to grasp at first glance but it gives twice as much pleasure in figuring out whats going on. casual popcorn film-goers wudnt enjoy these types of films lol.
also in NY there r a lot of theaters. not just on broadway but there r a ton of off broadway shows, so u mite be able to get an acting job on the stage. in LA virtually there is no theater. so in that sense u shud have more opportunities in NY than LA. :P

i think its a lot easier to start out as an actor in new york than in LA bcuz there r a ton of independent productions in new york where u dont have have an agent or belong to SAG (Screen Actors Guild). but in LA most productions r studio sponsored big budget productions, so u have to have an agent and be a member of the SAG. id say start out in new york and once u have a strong representation, move to LA. just my thought. ;P
haha sweet! i liked it man! u did a good job keeping on time. i like this song. i think the volume balance was just rite. were u chewing a gum or something? im not gona say start jumping up and down and collapse on the floor and keep playing (LOL) but i think the only suggestion mite be to use alternate picking? especially for a song like this. that may make it easier to strum fast. but overall nice job! u look like an artsy indie artist. :)

well brazil seems very humid and a lot of rain. san diego is dry, its basically like cool dessert. cool meaning the temperature. but it rained all day today im very surprised.
filmmaker is more indie, a person who does almost everything by himself. like i wud write, direct, produce, edit, maybe shoot, and sound design. a director is someone who only directs and maybe produce. but doesnt do much else.
hah well my pbass is a squier so u mite want a fender pbass. i dont know if there is a black and white pbass by fender. mm i dont really have a list actually. but i usually know what i want. :)

yea photo journalism is cool. but im more into broadcasting and films, AKA motion picture journalism. i studied film and TV at new york university so my back ground is more films and TV. hopefully i will be able to work as a broadcaster of international news or filmmaker who makes movies about international relations or affairs. OR a pro bassist.
HAHA! i tried not to do a cover if there r more than five bass covers on utube. i think most songs i covered were not covered by others. haha thx, squier pbass is a great starters model. but sterling beats pbass in both playability and sound. :)
im taking policy making process (political science class), managerial economics, propaganda and persuasion, and globalization of communication and culture. basically im focusing on media and international relations.

wow ur gona earn sum money thats cool. :) lol nice, funeral for a friend cover. i wudnt be so stressed out about it, just play with them and c how it feels. if the other bassist stays, he will stay. if he leaves, u will fill in as a temp bassist. no biggies. meanwhile u get to play in front of ppl and maybe earn sum money.
lol i dont know this schools pretty nerdy. like most of my students r chinese or koreans and there here to study. they dont look like they listen to rock music, more like classical? :P UCSD is a famous science and medical school so a lot of ppl want to be a chemist, bio engineer, doctor etc. and 40% of the students r asians! and 30% white, 20% hispanic, and 10% black i think. quite unusual.
i go to college and i work as a japanese teaching assistant. meaning i teach japanese to undergrad kids. :P

well i just moved to san diego so about two months ive been looking for musicians to form a band. and that problem always occurs to me too. its either the musicians rnt dedicated enuf or the musical taste is different. i think what u did was reasonable, to be a temp bassist until they can find a perm bassist. then they can practice with a bassist, and u can get experience playnig with other ppl. if they dont want that, then id decline.

if i didnt pick then id be in a band tomorrow, but im particular about two things and thats style and dedication. i want to play post hardcore, not country, not metal, not hiphop, or not death metal. and i want to practice @ least twice a week, not once every month or whenever feels like it. i think those two things r making it difficult for me to find or form a band, but i dont want to end up in a jonas brothers type band and be unhappy all the time. altho i am compromising the dedication part, i cud live with once a week practice if its longer than 5 hours. :P
i think a lot of ppl feel that way about their own culture. japanese LOVE gossip. and they like to hide their true feelings and just smile, when there hating that person. to be honest i dont really know about the culture of portugal but i know that it ruled the world in the past (we talked about this hehe) and ppl take food seriously. :) id luv to visit there sumday.

the party was off the hook and i was far gone. like literally my memory is gone after midnite but i remember i was going crazy and then puking lol. my friend took a good care of me and i feel bad. :/ and why do i have a lot of alcoholic drinks behind u, well bcuz i drank all of them lol. it looked empty at first (in FOB or Green Day covers) so i kept the bottles and by the end the collection grew in great deal. :)

yeah underground japanese movies tend to use over-the-top humor in horror or serious movies and they hardly ever work for me. and they try to put deep theme or serious social comment rite on top of everything. to me, its like eating an eel hamburger with honey. not very tasty... no more like i dont know what im supposed to taste.
i dont think its so much about the actors but it was the direction that sucked. many actors and actresses i recognized, which means they r pretty famous. and good in other movies.
is that a field trip movie?? everybody looks cold! i didnt know it gets that cold in portugal. haha everybody looked beautifil. :)

yea i did, i also added a lot of random ppl on myspace asking around. ive jammed but not formed a band yet.
i watched suicide club... IT SUCKED. :P ok, what is ur connection to urself, luv urself, treasure urself, i get that. but the whole blending of comedy (comedic sound effects used when someone jumps, the way the blood splashes, how the wife keeps cutting her finger when her daughter asks for chocolate, the sudden karaoke at the bowling alley while another man raps a woman in the cloth-bag, etc, i laughed in all these moments) and the serious horror (the display of a girls dead body after she jumped onto the train track, the shaving of skins, the whole realistic police investigation, etc). i think the movie cud have been a lot better if the director chose one direction and ran with it (ocultic comedy rockey horror picture show OR all the way serious se7en, but not mix them).
i also thought the acting was bad, especially the kids and the guys & gals in the bowling alley (felt like i was watching a bad high school play). the music was often not really matched with what was going on with the picture (the kids singing while ppl commit suicide, the juxtaposition didnt work for me). the editing was often abrupt (Genesis typing on the comment board then it cuts off to the date all of a sudden, he didnt even finish his line).
what WORKED for me was the unconventional way everything happened, usually when ppl look like theyll commit suicide, in our heads, were thinking "they wont do that". but in this movie, almost all the time they did. when the police officer discovered his son committed suicide, he took a gun off of his fellow officer. and pointed it to his face. we wud think "no way he wud kill himself". but he did. the happening of unexpected was fresh.
the audition ive heard of that movie actually. but i havent watched it. japanese underground films r really violent (battle royale for example). i like shochiku comedies like *tsuribaka nisshi* or *otoko wa tsuraiyo*. :P i dont know english names for them.
it takes really long to make those movies or bass cover movies... the new york portrait video took about 20 hours to make, the road trip movie took about 15 hours to make. i didnt do them on one single day tho i spread over a few weeks.
not yet, ive been jamming with ppl but not a complete band yet. u know anyone in san diego? :P
