  • Bio

Toronto-area vocalist, composer, and performer Amanda Belle invites you to listen to her original alt-pop-rock songs. The music demonstrates the diversity that this award-winning young vocalist is capable of, and highlight her writing skills. 'Hazy' is the acoustic-guitar driven power-ballad. "It feels like love. How did this get so hazy?" sings Belle. It is one of two tunes that were used by CTV in their BikerTV program. The title alone of 'Beautiful Garbage' grabs the listener with its collision of opposites. This track, that Belle describes as "pop music on anger management," has a catchy electric rhythm guitar and contemporary keyboard sounds. "Bring me justice!" implores Amanda at the outset of the roller-coaster ride which is the polished straight-ahead rocker 'What You Are', surprising in its complexity as the first song she wrote. The calibre of arrangement and production should not be surprising, as Amanda's musical co-writer, producer, and studio multi-instrumentalist is Michael Hanson, who is perhaps best known as the drummer from Glass Tiger, the band that rose to super-stardom in Canada during the 1980s. The professionally recorded songs have also been mastered at the acclaimed Metalworks studio. Amanda Belle, who is currently in Jazz Performance at Humber College, has been studying music since she was 6 years of age. Now 18, She holds a Grade 6 piano and Grade 8 vocal music certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music, and has given some award-winning vocal performances. Competitions she has participated in include the Brantford Idol Teen competition, in which she was the 2009 Grand Champion; she was a semi-finalist at the CNE Rising Star in 2009, and a finalist in 2010; Belle was a 2009 winner at the York Region Talent Search, resulting in her Celebration of the Arts bursary; and, the Norfolk Fair Champion title was also granted to her that year. You can catch Amanda performing live acoustic sets around Toronto. Porcelain Cameo has been retired ... now performing under solo name Amanda Belle
