Music is defined as the art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color...My definition of music: my life. I've always been able to define myself through music. It has the ability to make me feel emotions and relate to situations unlike anything else. It's so powerful that it can determine or change my mood...Music has been a big part of my life since I can remember. Growing up, I listened to mostly country music until the age of 13. At this point, I discovered artists such as Alanis Morrisette, Green Day, Oasis etc. At this point, I also decided that I wanted to learn to play the guitar. I purchased a $50 guitar at a pawn shop and began teaching myself to play. Throughout high school, I played a few times for the student body but chose to focus more on sports. My freshman year of college, my focus remained on sports, but I continued to play guitar as much as possible in my spare time. My sophomore year of college I wrote my first song...Writing gave me the ability to express myself, so I began writing poetry/lyrics and working with my friend, Whitney Frasier, to turn her poetry into songs. After college, my focus shifted from sports, to work. Now that I work a regular 9-5, I try to use all of my "free" time practicing/playing music....Along with my "solo" stuff, I play in a pop/rock duo with Audrey Cecil, and a folk/rock trio called Two Cent Penny. Recording Final Drum Tracks for Walkaway
*********I am officially SOLD OUT of the Amanda Lucas Acoustic Demo. However, I have a random collection of songs that Audrey Cecil and I have put out. Audrey and I recorded 3 of the songs live at the Pour Haus; Suffocating, Up or Down, and Runaway, while the other 2 songs came from previous releases. (Walkaway came from my acoustic demo, and Long Ride Home came from “August,” Two Cent Penny’s EP.) You can purchase our random collection for $5 at any show. If you can’t make it to a show, contact me and I’ll get you a copy!
